Trying to close SSE account but can't as it is mid-migration to OVO
Hi all,
We moved out of our property yesterday and are trying to close our SSE accounts. The online "Move Out" tool doesn't work reporting an error message "Internal Server Error Web server is returning an unknown error". I've called SSE today and they are unable to close my account but the operator has submitted a form to OVO which will apparently notify them of my moving out once the migration has completed at the end of the month. It's a bit of a s**t-show from them really and very annoying. I'm worried they will mess something up. And, of course, in the meantime they are sat on my credit which should have been refunded.
Has anyone had this happen to them?

When i helped with SOLR's this is pretty normal. You need to wait for the account to fully move to the new system, for then to do the move out or move in.
Make sure you have photos of the moving out meter readings and contact OVO to chase up every few weeks.

Been through the SSE to ovo move twice thanks to a house move, it takes around 10 days for both sides to catch up with each other.
They also use an estimated reading for the transfer regardless of when you last gave a reading or if you have smart meters, so echo the comment above about taking pictures of the closing reading, ideally with a time/date stamp if your phone/camera will allow you to.
