Posting under my alter ego as had log in problems again; one day I'll write down my password, instead of thinking I'll remember it!
Still frosty here in N Pagnell but less so this morning. The sun is out and I need to go up to the butchers and other shops so will walk up into town in a while. Tomorrow we are babysitting DGS so his parents can go to a friend's 40th birthday meal. DH is making a shepherd's pie so he'll do that tomorrow and take it with us to cook there.
After lunch we are getting the train down to Euston and then will walk down to Kings Cross for the Lumiere, which starts at 5.30pm. We've been in pre covid times and it was extremely busy but in more venues. They had fantastic lights in places like Leicester Square, Regent St etc and I'm sure this year's will be just as good. Lumiere London - King's Cross (kingscross.co.uk) Unfortunately their App doesn't seem available so we'll just follow the crowd! Just so long as there's hot chocolate and street food we'll be fine.
Best wishes to all the poorlies and injured; hope everyone has a good day. Wicked Lady

Morning! Sunny again, and we reach the tropical delights of 6 degrees later on...I have a doc appointment today, no idea what for, someone said I should but for what I don't know, there was a garbled message on the answerphone. Today I am going into the back bedroom and make a start. I did the houseworky stuff yesterday, washing, hoovering, made the pie, etc, so I have no more procrastination excuses. Ok, I have just seen next door go to his car, open the bonnet and take out a blanket he had covering the engine. And now he's started it up to defrost it...I'm SO nosey! But then, he does come out of his house several times a day and look down the road because one of his sons lives there, he checks to see if he's home or working or something...What are the plus points to putting a blanket on your engine? Are there any? I appear to have sold something so one less thing going to the charity shop.Gers, the thread may take a while to fade if it is fading, but as long as there's one to start it, it'll be fine...Scarlet, hope you've already chosen your colours, I find that the most annoying part about decorating, the colours never look the same..Coxy, is that a fund to do a walk or a fund from doing a walk? Is is John O Groats Lands End? Me and acronyms are not friends...And if it helps just one, it's better than none...Rosy, hope they his van sorted asap. And as you say, lucky the driver was OK, although maybe next time they can go slower...Bella, hope your constitution decides it can take some food for the weekend, have a nice time out. Mehefin, good to see you can eat the pies again. Suet pastry is the way to go
Izzy, your boss sounds right charmer...dp1, all you can do is just plod on and hope that the side effects go away at some point. It's now knowing whats next or how to fix things that is really dragging though..or it would be for me, sorry, I'm projecting...Anyway, have a lovely day, wear blankets...

Morning all, the sun is shining and the wallpapering is DONE ! Glad you can't see me doing my happy dance, it's not a pretty sight 😁 We finally finished at 7.30pm last night and we were both shattered but determined to get it done. We're both feeling it this morning though, with more aches and pains than normal.
Today I shall tidy tools away and then dust and hoover, every surface seems to have a film of dust on it. This afternoon Mr Fix It has his oncology review, it's by phone sometime between 1pm and 5pm, so we don't have to go out but I'll sit and keep him company while he drums his fingers waiting. Hopefully it isn't cancelled because of the nurses strike. I haven't spent much time on my laptop lately so I'll web wander, I could do with some different furniture and soft furnishings now 😂
Topsy sorry to read about your son. I wish him a speedy recovery.
Rosy oh dear about the van. I hope someone can fix it quickly for DH.
Mehefin Hi ! Glad you're feeling better.
Bella hopefully you are on the mend. Have a lovely weekend with your family and Happy Birthday to DH for Sunday.
Take care all, hugs to the poorly ones and those struggling with problems. Hello to the MIA's if you're reading along.

I've put away the washing and managed to remove an airtag from the unwanted suitcase. I couldn't find the small hex key so had to order a wee set which arrived yesterday. Suitcase now ready to go to the CS along with a small number of other things. My new hearing aid is still irritating my ear though not as much as the previous one, the upside is it is making a difference. I can't really tell when wearing it but it's obvious when I remove it. So far, it's a success. My SIL phoned this morning from a stormy QLD, it's always good to hear from the family there. The friend in Melbourne phoned earlier so I've had two chats - usually we have a three-way call, this time my SIL was busy so called me later.I'm eyeing up installing the new 4G router and network switch, it's times like this when I wish that my ex OH is herewe have spoken about how simple it is to do, and it really is. This is procrastination central!

Taff's story re her neighbour putting a blanket over his car tempted me to de-lurk to tell my story!! 40 odd years ago I had passed my test and started driving. My dad (a non driver) suggested that I put an old coat over my engine in the cold weather so it might start better in the mornings. I did this regularly until one day I forgot to take it off before I started the engine. Lots of cursing and cutting ensued trying to get it off. On another occasion I came down from our flat to find my car had been stolen. The police found it nearby as the thieves obviously had the same problem with the coat and abandoned it. Taff, you may want to mention this story to your neighbour lol
