Just heard that on the news, the emergency restriction on evictions in Scotland originally until March this year has now been extended to September.
Another blow for Landlords in Scotland.

Hi
Restriction or not its yet another massive kick in the teeth for many LL's who are ordinary people and bought/buying a BTL to aid their retirement etc so they are not a burden on the state.
The clown thinks she is being clever by buying votes but T's lose a bit later down the road as LL's sell up and or raise rents
and are more choosy who they all ow as T's.
Here in England, the gov is more sensible and knows this kind of action does not go down well for not just the LL's but T's as well
thanks

It’s not quite a done deal yet as it still needs parliamentary approval but with the SNP/Green coalition it probably will go through.ProDave said:Just heard that on the news, the emergency restriction on evictions in Scotland originally until March this year has now been extended to September.
Another blow for Landlords in Scotland. As @user1977 says there are some grounds for eviction that can still be enforced by sheriff officers.0 -
Has it come into force yet? What would happen if I served notice to leave NOW?0

You can serve notice now and the FTT can grant you an eviction order, neither has ever been stopped by the Cost of Living (Tenant Protection) (Scotland) Act 2022, it’s the enforcement of eviction by sheriff officers that has been temporarily suspended.ProDave said:Has it come into force yet? What would happen if I served notice to leave NOW?I suspect that if you were to issue notice now you’d get your eviction order but unless you have one of the exemptions given in the legislation you won’t be able to enforce it with a sheriff officer until 1st October 2023.0
