Depending on whether her GP has said she cannot fly due to medical issues they may be able to claim on their travel insurance.

Pregnancy and choosing not to travel isn't usually covered but check their terms because many do cover if there is a medical reason not to travel during pregnancy

That may depend on when the insurance was taken out and if it was before the partner became pregnant whether they then declared it or not.

Check the T&C of their travel insurance.  They may be able to claim on that.  I'm assuming they took out travel insurance when they booked the holiday.

The OP is due to travel after the birth of their child... most pregnancy related issues end when the pregnancy does. 

The other issue will be... if they dont cancel now can they still get a refund of the hotel closer to the time? If not it may be a gamble that "hopefully" they get ill so they can claim on the insurance and the insurance pays out rather than cancelling now and getting the hotel cost back.

|Yes, generally holiday bookings aren't refundable so they've probably got lucky being able to get the hotel costs back. Given that under 2s fly free it may cost nothing (or just an admin fee) to add the new baby to the booking - they might want to consider that.

Totally read that the wrong way round and that she would be pregnant six weeks before🤦🏻‍♀️ I'm surprised it took that long for someone to correct me
