FirstSave not in One-Year Fixed-term savings accounts – what we'd go for. Any reason?

Options
Looking at your "Fixed-term savings accounts" for "One-year fixes – what we'd go for", you recommend SmartSave with 4.26%, followed by Charter Savings Bank 4.24% and Vanquis Bank 4.2%.
Having a look elsewhere, I notice that FirstSave have a Fixed Rate Bond Accounts "1 year bond monthly interest - Dec22" with AER of 4.30%.
I just wondered whether there was a reason why you haven't recommended it?
I'd be interested to hear any advice, before I consider whether to save with FirstSave at all.

The FirstSave account was only released today so it's unlikely that anyone's had a look yet.
  • Welcome to the Forum. You can compare rates here

You have to decide for yourself if you need monthly or annual interest. I fixed in December and went with Atom for monthly interest so I am able to split interest payments over two financial years to make most use of the Personal Savings Allowance (PSA). Obviously depending on the sum you want to fix and your tax situation.

The MSE website may recommend it, but this is an open forum and the posters have no link with MSE directly ( except for posting on the forums that MSE host)

Re checking 'in the first instance', to be fair, it was available when OP posted earlier this afternoon!

Do you know that for certain, other F.S fixed rate periods were showing on 3rd party site yesterday as highest rate despite having been withdrawn .......
