Should I replace carpet before putting up for sale?

It this were a seller’s market, I’d say don’t bother.Carpet can be v cheap, esp if you don’t replace the underlay and it’s only for a small bit. It would be shame to spoil a ship for a ha’p’orth of tar.I go for mid grey in my rentals (although I get high quality carpet as I want it to last) and that seems to be popular with everyone.0

If it just a tear, contact adhesive can be very good at sticking it down and disguising it
Personally I hate this modern rough grey carpet everyone is putting in these days, if I was buying that would be one of the first things to go !0 -
I guess you'll be getting 3 or 4 EAs in to do marketing appraisals - so maybe get them in now, and ask them their opinion.
They'll have done hundreds of viewings, and seen/heard hundreds of peoples reactions to stuff - so they'll probably have good ideas about the carpet, and maybe about other things as well.
