Claim from nearly 6 years ago. Cannot recall incident.

Summary at the end) Last month I received a County Court Claim from Civil Enforcement for over 400 pounds for an alleged parking fine at a hospital JUST UNDER 6 years ago. I honestly cannot remember this incident at all. I have parked in this hospital over the years (but not last few years). I cannot recall whether I appealed or not, or received any correspondence regarding it at the time. I am sure however that I have not received any correspondence about this over the last 3 years at least. I visit a number of hospitals quite frequently in my line of work and have had tickets but as I said I haven’t parked at thus one for many years. Interestingly I sold the car a few months after the alleged incident and it was usually used by my wife, which adds to the confusion. I’ve submitted acknowledgment of service in time as per forum advice, thanks @Coupon-mad, but have left things to last minute. The claim is dated 19th December.
Summary: court papers for an alleged parking offence received 5 years and 11 months after alleged incident. No correspondence regarding fine or taking court action over the past 3 years at least, maybe none at all. Both drivers of the vehicle can’t recall alleged incident.
Q. I’ve read the template. Anything else I should amend or add in, especially about no correspondence and not recalling incident.
Thanks everyone

The claim is dated 19th December.
I am going to assume that you filed an Acknowledgment of Service sometime after 23rd December 2022 and before Monday 9th January 2023. Please confirm - your MCOL Claim History will have the definitive answer.

With a Claim Issue Date of 19th December, and having filed an Acknowledgment of Service in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Monday 23rd January 2023 to file your Defence.

That's still a few days away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence.
To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look at the second post in the NEWBIES thread.
Don't miss the deadline for filing a Defence.

Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an Acknowledgment of Service has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.

Sounds like you tried to post your comments within the quote box itself, if so, no matter how many characters you use in the box, you will still get the 'x characters short' message.

After getting the quote box showing in your reply window, position your cursor outside the quote box, but within the reply window, then type away.

It also might be worth mentioning that your attempt to bring this to my attention didn't work.  :)

It didn't work because it tried to alert user KeithP...couldn't.

There being no space after the 'P', the silly forum software tried to notify a user called KeithP...couldn't.

Anyway, not a problem. A learning point for us all.

Hi, I’m a bit confused, did you say I should or should not copy unremarkable day defence..you said on that thread that my case is different. Thanks again.

You found a single thread that wasn't relevant to your case.  Don't click on just one thread and stop there thinking "that's the one".

That wasn't what searching the forum is about. There are hundreds of results when you search for those words.

Take your time, find a far more relevant one.

When I said "search for NEWEST" results,  I didn't mean to land on just one thread and only read the newest result. The point of filtering to read 'newest results' (plural) is to narrow your search and remove years-old stuff from your results.

You can then settle down to skim-read a dozen or so threads (plural) from the past few months.  You'll soon find a good one that really makes sense for your case.

@Coupon-mad yes of course. Can I just confirm date I need to submit defence by. The claim date is 19th December, acknowledgement of service submitted 2nd January and received 3rd January. @KeithP says I have until Monday 23rd January but I have calculated 33 days to be meaning I have until Sunday? And I need to email on a working day? Thanks everyone again
