Hi all.
My kids have done someting to their laptop where it now doesnt work.
HP Envy 360 windows 11 laptop.
I get a blue screen saying your device ran into some problems and needs to restart, with stop code bad system config info at bottom. it then shows preapring auto repair and goes to a blue screen
It then goes to "choose an option". if i select continue it then does the same as above.
if i trouble shoot> start up repair it says couldnt repair your pc. gives me a log file, and then says try advance options.
I thought id try resetting pc but then it asks for the recovery ID which i dont have. It also asks for bitlocker id which again i dont have. Ive tried reinstalling windows via cloud id and local re install but get error "there was a problem with resetting your pc."
Ive tried system restore but theres no restore points created.
So basically nothings working. can someone assist? can i re install windows from somewhere or what? can i bypass this recovery key?
Any advice? were happy to reset and go back to factory settings but cant do it due to recovery/bit locker. This laptop was bought over 18months ago from some one who sold it as opened but never used. getting a recovery key will impossible. what other optios do i have? can i re install windows or something?
Is it worth taking to a local pc repair shop or can i try fixing it myself?
Thanks

Try this:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_4511095-4511141-16
You will need to download the recovery image on a different PC.
I just scanned the instructions, you may need to press F9 when powering up to make it boot from USB and/or got into firmware settings to turn off secure boot to allow it.
Alternatively and Win 11 image may work:

Wouldn't bother with Windows 10 personally, only a couple of years left of support for it. Win 11 is more secure for a fresh install and much nicer to use.
