Hi Zagfles, only Tui and Jet2 fly from Leeds and Manchester to Larnaca, and the fact skyscanner doesn't include Leeds to any Cyprus airport on that chart, I suspect these airlines aren't included.

Have you not considered Paphos, it's not that far from Larnaca
Yes we've looked at it. 2.5 hour drive and not good roads.  Also flights are similar in price so no real benefit.
It's a highway, all the way. It is the best road on the island. It's around 130 km and can be driven in under 1.5 hours.

If you don't want to fly into Paphos that's your choice. But the information you are quoting is woefully inaccurate.

    I concur

I feel for your predicament.  Like others I however feel this insurance option either won't be open to you, or if you can find a business which will insure, the cost of the premium will be prohibitive.

I have a feeling the planning will come down to researching in advance what airlines and routes fly on particular days and times. Then if the worst happens that you accept that you may just have to pay for a new ticket home for you or your party.

I'm quoting my mother in law who lives in paralimni and has made the journey quite a few times.

    Thank you everyone.
We've looked at BA out of Heathrow which permits flight changes for a fee. It's a few hundred quid more but probably the best option

Well, the inference was to risk getting a cheaper flight and you inferred that there weren't many available to LCA, that's where the tread had somewhat drifted.
Anyway, glad you have reached a conclusion

Flying into Paphos doesn't help with the insurance issue, no.

But I believe people here were trying to find you other solutions because they feel compassion for the difficult situation you are in. You had rejected Paphos, as an alternate route, due to erroneous information and we were trying to help.

JB, I believe, used to live over Paphos way. I live here in Cyprus (25 minutes from LCA and 75 minutes from PFO) and as I drive more that anyone on the island (nudging 1000km a week on an island that's only 250km long) driving times and road conditions are a subject close to my heart.

BA flex tickets are a good solution, as are Avios redemptions which can be cancelled up to 24 hours before travel for a small penalty though the likelihood of being able to get 4 together in high season is low.

Best of luck with your planning in this tough time,
