SmartSave Savings

We are thinking of investing some money into a SmartSave savings account.  I wanted to know if SmartSave can be contacted by phone?  You can send an online message but I can't see a phone number via their website.   I understand that SmartSave funds are protected by FSCS.  Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Where can I find your phone number?

Our UK support team are available through our SaveBot, live chat or email on Monday to Friday, from 8am to 6pm.

If you’d like to talk to us on the phone, we’ll call you back - so you won't ever have to wait on hold again. We made the decision not to have an inbound phone number, in order to keep our costs low so that we can offer you the best rates possible.

  • Thank you for your reply.  I will test the call back facility before I go ahead.

I imagine it's a fixed rate account you want to open with SmartSave. I've also spent time searching the forum for opinions and experiences with them. Hopefully more expert voices than mine will be able to offer advice. What I would say is at least if it is fixed rate/term you shouldn't have to worry once you've opened and funded the account, as you'll need no contact. They use Barclays for clearing, which isn't unusual, but might flag a concern with your own bank in terms of them recognising the payee. I had that problem with Bank of India. I would certainly read their FAQs carefully, e.g you'll have 14 days to fund the account.

I prioritise ease of dealing with bank, and I'd use the telephone as a last resort myself. Twice I rang Coventry last Wednesday and Friday - number 50, then 37 respectively in the queue; and I had no confidence they would have been able to solve my problem. Good luck.
