Safer? Possibly but have known some that got a massive windfall from SAYE schemes. My first proper job was the last year in which those of an acquired company were in their old SAYE scheme... from memory they were paying an option price of £2 per share and at maturity the shares were circa £24.Mixmyth said:
I guess the moral of this story is, don't use an employer based SAYE. Some sort of regular savings account input would be safer.
A load of them left the next day having made a massive windfall.0
