Miele TwinDos vs washing powder?

I've got a Miele WWR860WPS washing machine, and it does TwinDos
You can refill your own liquid into there, and looking at the prices on Asda, the prices for liquid are quite similar to the price of detergent (when comparing like for like)
What's the better option, in terms of cleaning? I've used powder most of my life because it's typically been cheaper tbf

You can see both at HUKD and the criteria is price per wash. I think 12-15p currently; used to be about 10p.waqasahmed said:

Sure but price per wash is pretty much at parity atmgrumbler said:

So it's more about what's better, and not necessarily what's cheaper if they're about the same price per wash0 -
A fair change of heart to go from buying powder on the basis of price and then getting a £2000 washing machine and wanting to decide on the basis of results!
The theory of the TwinDos system is that the machine can adjust the timing and quantity of detergent/conditioner based on the load. I've always somewhat wondered how well this works if you arent using their own brand as the amount each bottle advises to use does vary.. most are around 27ml but ECover is 36ml for example and conditioner ranges even wider?0 -
Lol. FWIW, I got the machine for £700 on eBayDullGreyGuy said:A fair change of heart to go from buying powder on the basis of price and then getting a £2000 washing machine and wanting to decide on the basis of results!

But also I quite like the idea of reddit's r/buyitforlife which the majority of Miele products come into
I'm quite "let's save pennies here where it doesn't truly matter but let's spend £££ there where it matters"0 -
I can tell you how it works, well for me anyhow. Our Twindos is years old (over 10).DullGreyGuy said:A fair change of heart to go from buying powder on the basis of price and then getting a £2000 washing machine and wanting to decide on the basis of results!

You can set the detergent and conditioner to dispense in whatever amount of ml you require.
I use Ecover and set the detergent at 35ml.1 -
Thanks. Any reason why you don't use washing powder?theonlywayisup said:
