The weather is not so harsh today, the temperature is above freezing at least. Mind you, I'm so pleased that I had a new electric blanket stored as most places are sold out of them, I like the ones with a skirt rather than straps.Yesterday I indulged in a little light drawer rustling and sorting. Then I tackled the box on my coffee table as I needed to find a specific piece of paper. Out went a load of bits and pieces whilst others were moved to their proper place. All a bit passively active!EE sent me a new BT home hub which really confused me. My home router is EE, I'd just renewed my contract and didn't need or expect a new hub. Turns out that EE and BT have merged and are replacing the previous hubs as they are Chinese. 😱As for today, my plans are fluid.Healing thoughts to our poorlies and missing. Happy Wednesday to all.11

Morning folks and thanks GERS. Bah more snow last night to top up the covering from the day before. Fortunately not a heavy fall. Need to throw more salt down the front steps.
We managed our coffee 'n lunch 'n natter meet up yesterday and expected it quieter due to the weather. Not so, it was heaving and noisy! Why do some people think everybody else wants to hear what they have to say!
It's bus trip day but I think we may need a quick discussion first thanks to the weather. No more snow is forecast so we shouldn't be isolated anywhere!
Have a nice day folks and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, recovering and fed up. Our MIA list is growing by the day and it's getting quite worrying. Hope everything is as well as it can be with them all. Take care one and all and be safe and warm. xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"8 -
Good morning, thanks for starting Gers. The cold doesn't seem as intense here, and we've had no more snow.I like sorting through drawers, cupboards and wardrobes Gers, what that says about me I don't know.Glad you got out yesterday TA,I hope you manage it today. Be careful on those front steps. We didn't do much yesterday, my osteo appointment was ok, and we went to the quiz last night. Between those occurrences I did a bit of ironing and tidying while Dh glossed some more skirting board. We haven't bought the emulsion for the walls yet, we'll have to go to BnQ or similar.I think I'll go out this morning to our little high street, one of the clothes shops is closing down and they're having a sale. sadly that that will mean another empty shop. This little town used to be so busy, with a market twice a week, but not now.Hope everyone has as good a day as they can, thoughts to our poorly ones. Hope NMLC is ok. So many people have this chest infection with a terrible cough.Take care and stay warm folks.10

Morning everyone freezing cold here really hard frost and biting wind put a pound on at WW last night it was my own fault I knew when I had the bar of chocolate at the weekend what would happen I can’t go over my points even a little bit or I put on super strict now but the good news is I forgot I still have another week of holiday to take so I put it in for next week I don’t know how that happened but I am definitely getting a bus somewhere for a look out Saturday I am not sitting in doing housework for a week although I still have my cleaning jobs to go to I don’t want anything but I’m going to have a wander round the shops and pop in somewhere for a coffee. Hope all our MIA are staying safe and warm TA pleased you got out watch those steps it’s sad scarlet when you see all these lovely little shops closing down they always have something a bit different in not like the big chains but it’s getting harder for them with energy price rises and people haven’t got the money to spend . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing9

Morning all, blimey it was cold during the night, I had to put an extra cover on the bed. Now I know why as we've woken to snow, not much but a light covering and it's not going away yet.
Yesterday I finished the glossing that I needed to do and we also got the lining paper up onto the wall yeah !! Today we're going to start to hang the fancy patterned stuff 😨. I must keep a box of tissues to hand though as I think I'm allergic to the paste, my nose started running from the time I mixed it in the bucket until I put it away. Tea tonight will be the last of the lo xmas curry but I'll make a new batch of rice to go with it.
Take care all, wrap up warm if you have to go out and no falling over please.

Morning everyone
Snow and ice still looks as frozen as yesterday - I'll venture down to mam and dads later.
Yesterday was a long day - I was more than an hour late having my MRI scan as they were having difficulties with the one they were doing before me. The poor lady was in the scanner for over an hour . Mine was about 15 minutes - I felt a bit panicky but was ok.
So I ended up in Newcastle with no time to look in any shops! I did think I would get the next train after the one I was booked on but it was cancelled, so I just walked straight back to the station. I suppose it saved me money!
Today little one is at nursery and DD has an appointment at the RVI in Newcastle so I'm 'on call' for nursery to ring if they've any problems with her blood sugars. I'll go down and pick her up later too.
I like sorting cupboards and drawers too but I have to be in the mood to do it!
We seem to have several people missing - hope they're ok.
Better get on. Take care x7 -
Morning all Its a cold one here cars are covered in a thick layer of frost to be fair mine didn't defrost from yesterday DD1 popped in to show me some houses she is going to view on Friday and to collect some sleeping bags as she and her BF are doing a sleepover at the Natural History Museum .I am staying in daily housework as normal then i might clean the bathroom blind . Chilli for dinner
Scarlet Little towns have changed so much i remember all the little local shops in town from my childhood here and i dont think there are more than 2 left now its all charity shops and nik nak shops.
NRA How is the house sale going ?
Hugs to all our poorlies and MIA's . Stay safe warm and dry and have a good day xSlava Ukraini8 -
Morning all, thanks Gers. We had snow last night, & the temp is hovering around freezing. The log burner was still slightly glowing this morning& easy to get going again, we put a few pieces of smokeless fuel on late last night which keeps it going longer. Yesterday it took some lighting as we didnt have any kindling, pinched a bit from DS. Also got one of the fans to go on top.I agree there seems to be a lot of MIA at the moment, and send my best wishes to them all xLunch out yesterday was good, DH dropped me at the new restaurant as it's a fair trek from hers to ours and then halfway back to the place in question. She had a voucher for 50% off so it was very reasonable for the quality of food. I had a nice surprise when someone came to sit at the next table to us( it was very close!) and said hello- a relative from MILs side who I've known since I first met DH but not seen for ages.We had a bit of a chat but I was conscious that my friend couldn't really join in. Then she said' oh someone else thinks she knows you from school' & sure enough yes! All 4 ladies were nurses, retired now. The old school friends Mum & mine used to work together too
She showed me a photo on her phone of some friends she still meets up with.By then my friend had joined in the conversation too
, and said when we got in the car that it was nice to see my surprised look and she enjoyed it. She dropped me off at DS as it was nearer, & getting foggy.
Menfolk had pizzas last night,I put the hash back in the fridge for tonight as I just had some crackers when I got in.Bad news in the local paper yesterday , the big MnS in town is closing down. I'm gutted as it's the main reason I go to town. There is a smaller one at the retail park, but not even a bus to get thereIt will certainly hit the town centre hard, like yours Scarlet.
Right enough waffling, take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)9 -
Morning all

love to you all and hope you stay safe in this cold weather xxx11 -
Morning. It's snowed, just a light smattering that will probably disappear in the sun later on. Fire is on, I've run out of bricks to keep it going in the night, will have to check out your smokeless Rosy. Messaged Nels, her hands are playing up , I'm guessing quite a lot, hence her being mia..I have started listing things on FBMP so if they don't go this week, they'll be going to a distribution center for the Sally army next week now that I know where it is. Unfortunately, it's quite a big place so I may fill the boot for the way back...Watch this space...Made the pie yesterday, it's very nice but I want to make one with different pastry but I don't know what the pastry is, it must be some kind of hot water crust pastry..we had pies when we went out for an enegagement recently, they were really good so I'm trying to figure out what the pastry was. It wasn't too thick but it was quite crunchy and stiff...thinner than a pork pie one but as crispy as the good ones, and not tough. Quiche tins will be going to the cs piie, didn't use them, used a pie dish instead. Today I am cataloguing what's to go and starting another stash sort out upstairs. If I feel the urge to do crafty stuff in the future, I can buy more if I need to so someone else can use what I've accumulated over the years, including a ton of overlocker thread. Or I can use it now, those are the two choices, there's no leaving for Justin anymore.Izzy, well that's good news, enjoy the time off! Gers, i did laugh at your ruslting drawers. If you find a cow in your house, you know it's your fault
Scarlet, it says you're an organiser, not a slob like me
Can you find more ironing so your OH can do ALL the glossing?
shame about the closure, they're dying like pubs are it seems. nanny, good luck with taming wallpaper. Bella, a sleepover? sounds exciting! Rosy, very serendipitous! snoozer, I usually cook extra by mistake then spend the next day grazing on it because it's so nice. I can tell you to stop worrying but you won't because it's normal. Have a google for hidden storage, you might find some ideas. Ruby, good to see you , no need for a waggy finger yet then:) good to hear you're recovering Take care all, wear thermals, or hats and gloves or something..., it's a bit brass monkeys out there today...
