Gibraltar

Going to be in Malaga in ten days time.

Husband enjoys a day out in Gibraltar.  He won't drive in Spain.

Best way to get there?

Yes, I know it's touristy, yes, I know it's not that great a day out in a lot of peoples eyes but he enjoys it.

Don't really enjoy the buy a day trip coach thing because of the multiple hotel pick ups.   Is there like an express coach with say, one pick up in each city along the way?

Have you been on tripadviser?  If you look on the Spain forum or Gibraltar forum this question may have already been answered or you could join and ask.

I like the day out in Gibraltar, but I'm not your husband, so it is not that strange a thing to do.

I have driven there before and the queue at the border can be quite long.

Last time we went was a coach trip.
We booked at the hotel and they only had the one pick up at the hotel with no other stops.  It was only available one day in the week, and that was Sunday which turns out not to be the best day to go as a lot of places do not open.
You could ask your hotel whether they offer anything similar.
If you are actually staying in Malaga proper, then there are loads of trip companies - you could ask them whether they have a "no stop" offering.

Finally, there is a direct bus from Malaga to Algeciras (I am not sure how long that takes or how many stops) and from there you could get a taxi to the border post and then another taxi once you are through customs.  It would be an adventure if nothing else.

    Rome2rio says there’s a bus as well - takes about 2 1/2 hours though.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

You would be looking for a bus to the Spanish border crossing point of La Linea de la Concepcion, or shortened to just La Linea.  This is prior to the port area of Algeciras which is mentioned above.

La Linea is a bit of a tatty town with nothing much to see, but it is from here that you cross the frontier border between Spain and Gibraltar.  Gibraltar airport terminal in then immediately on the left once over the border.  There is a bus you can catch into Gib town but the walk (over the runway) will take only about 20/25 min.

There seem to be quite frequent buses to La Linea according to this site
