    Firstly it's not 'taking a stand', it's choosing 1 of the 3 standard options open to you.
    Next, you cannot assume you'll be served notice. For reasons already explained, few LLs would do this.
    Thirdly, you are being manipulated. The agent is implying you must go along with their offer and you are taking their word at face value.
