My 2017 mini drivers door freezes constantly in the winter , I live in a very exposed area so unless I want to climb over via the passenger side I have to reverse the car so the drivers door is sheltered by the house.Right now we have 4 or 5 inches of snow, its -2 and going to get worse overnight, glad Im not working tomorrow0 -
Unfortunately it's happening whilst at my work , we have to reverse into parking spaces aswell0

We've 2 cars with this issue, I've sprayed both with WD40 tonight, then sprayed with a product that is "Suitable for indoor and outdoor applications where parts can be exposed to factors such as high pressure loads, fresh or salt water, dirt, extreme temperature, sun, wind and other weather conditions."
I'll let you know tomorrow.0 -

Re wd40 - i used to use that but since reading about how WD40 degrades rubber, I have changed to silicone spray and it is as good if not better imo.

TIP: if your door is frozen to the rubber, or the hinges are frozen, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER just pull it as if it were a 1960s car with proper door handles. The low quality plastic rubbish that passes for door handles today will just shatter in the cold and leave you with A Big Bill.Use the handle to release the lock, and then pry it open round the edges with your other hand- fingernails grow back by themselves.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science)

My door rubbers never stick as they are kept well lubricated ...... but ....... some bright idiot designer decided it was a good idea to fit a flexible rubber seal coated in a felt like substance across the top of the door contacting the bodyWhen I lived in Germany one of the service schedule items was lubricating the door rubbers but that was when cars had proper servicing.0

I use some stuff on the door rubbers called Gummi Pflege which someone recommended to me years ago.I've no idea what's in it, I don't think it's silicone, but a wipe round with it now and again seems to stop the frame stickiing.0

Hi
Any car door can stick because of recent weather in londo, eg, raining, possibly water left on rubber, very cold for a few days car not driven, you try to open door during sub sero temps, of course the door will stick
Thanks-1
