Been scammed by nationwide advice ltd

I have seen I am not the only one to have used these and not received my money , Trying to contact them seems a waste of time you get an answer phone but they never ring you back the same with the so called email admin@nationwideppi.advice.co.uk, does anyone know if this is real
Can we not get together and at least try and do something if not prevent others for falling in the same trap, it seems they are still getting away with this scam, I am at the moment awaiting my paperwork to come from the HMRC I have this companies address but it would appear it is a house which has seven people living there . The person on the answer phone is the same person who got me to do the claim with them
Thanks for letting me have my say

I suspect most companies listed at companies house have a home address.

The person on the answer phone is the same person who got me to do the claim with them
Which, again, is probably not unexpected as most of these types of companies are one man bands or just a handful of people.

They most certainly won`t be "the" Nationwide.

Lots of "fly by night" so called claims companies out there, best advice is avoid the lot of em.

  • What you have described is very suspicious.
As a Nationwide customer, I would contact Nationwide and let them know about this. If you have an account there: I would certainly want all of my financial security to be protected from any fallout, should 'nationwide advice ltd' be a scam. And I suspect it might be. Good luck.

It has nothing to do with Nationwide Building Society.  The name "Nationwide" is commonly used across many businesses.  Builders, plumbers etc etc.

This business, not at all associated with Nationwide Building Society as dunstonh says, is registered at Companies House but has only been in operation for almost two years and looks as if it is run by just one man. See following link -

    https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/13158298

What money have you lost? What scam have they been guilty of? This kind of company is common, as sourcrates said, above. They're not illegal but they do things for people that they could do for themselves and take a cut of the profit for basically doing nothing.

If you feel this company is running scams and has defrauded you in some way, then you can report them using the information in the following link.

  • thank you all for your replies,
i have found out that i was scamed this company although is still out there you cannot get them by either  phone or email  ,
not sure if its worth writing to them as that also seems like a house with seven people living there,
i just wanted to try and help others that may still get in touch with them on the web site that seems to still be running,
i have reported them  to a police fraud site and are waiting to hear from them , thanks again good luck to you

You haven’t actually explained how you were scammed by them though? If you ask them to make a claim with HMRC for you, and they’re still waiting for HMRC to pay the money over to them, and that’s not a scam as such.
It’s you paying for a service that you could probably have done for yourself but which in itself isn’t an unlawful.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
  • hi , they got in touch with me via phone  and i fell for it,i still think they should not be allowed to get away with it,
HMRC has sent them the money , i did understand that they would earn a % but not all

    Hi
Sorry to hear about that.  Taken "all" does not appear right at all.
    Puka link below,

you decide if its a scam or not and way forward but taking it "all" not correct in any way.

You do realise that by giving this company your permission to act on your behalf, that permission is valid until you revoke it in writing.

So for example, you may be due another tax refund in the future, this company can, at present, claim that back for you, and take their cut, you need to revoke all permissions, in writing ASAP.
