New boiler needed - advice please! :-)
Options
Hi everyone. I just need a bit of advice please....
My boyfriend and I bought a house together over a year ago. Unfortunately the boiler we have in the house is rather ancient. It had a bit of a leak that wasn't too bad originally (kept a dish underneath it to catch water). Unfortunately the last few days it has got really bad
and so we are looking to buy a new one before it packs in completely. Does anyone have any advice on what brand of boiler to buy and what to avoid? We have heard to avoid Pottertons (problems with circuit boards). We have also heard that Vaillant is quite reliable. Also who would people recommend for installing it? We are looking for something compact if possible as the one we have at present takes up a lot of space on the kitchen wall. We've never purchased a boiler before so any advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks

Don't go for the British Gas one.
I was stupid enough to do this and bought a Worcester Bosch from them and it cost the best part of 3k.
I have slapped my hand a thousand times for this especially as it is only 3 weeks old and I have had to have the engineer from British Gas and also Worcester Bosch to look at it 6 times.
I am now sat in a freezing cold house as they have no engineers available until tomorrow and my 78 year old Mum who had come to stay for Christmas has had to go to my brothers house as it's too cold for her.NSK Zombie # SFD 7/15 Food Bank £0/£5

Hi Kittyboo. Many thanks for the advice. I hope you have managed to get your boiler sorted. It's always worse when these things happen at xmas isn't it?!2022 wins include.... £1,000 cheque £150 ASDA gift card £250 Impericon gift voucher £100 cheque £100 of plant bulbs £100 Bower Collective voucher0
