Windscreen replacement & ADAS

Yesterday I had the misfortune to suffer a cracked windscreen and today discovered that following replacement the Advanced Driver Assistance System will need to be recalibrated. Has anyone else had to get this done and is the cost paid by the insurer and nothing more than the excess needs to be paid? The Autoglass website doesn't mention the cost of recalibration but I want to be forearmed before I book an appointment.
Thanks

Usually covered by the insurer cost wise. Sometimes Autoglass has the equipment to do the re-calibration, sometimes it has to go to the main dealer to get done.
Last time mine was done it was the latter, but both appointments sorted by the insurer and paid for by them.
Obviously a generalisation as I can't see the terms of your policy, but this is usually the case if you have windscreen cover.1 -
Thank you for quick reply, 400ixl. I've just skimmed through my policy and there's no specific mention of windscreen cover but the excess is mentioned on my certificate. The policy does mention that recalibration of the ADAS will be paid by the insurer following an accident, which I assume includes a stone hitting the windscreen.
Thanks again.
