12mm Ply capacity to carry 25kg load

I want to create a plantform for a fridge (which is 25kg in weight)  using 12.5mm ply, the size is 900 x 600mm. Will the ply hold the weight ?
Appreciatew comments please?

It depends on the construction that supports the ply

It's very important, where the load is applied and how the plywood is supported, not just the weight, thickness and the size.
In this case, as the fridge legs are very close to the edges, even thinner plywood may be sufficient provided that it's supported around the perimeter, not just at the corners.
25kg - is it some small fridge? Why 900mm then?

If the plywood is going to be sat on a solid surface, it will be fine. A bit more detail would help really. If you are raising it off the ground, the structure underneath the plywood will determine it's load carrying capacity.

If you give more detail on what you are trying to achieve, we'll be able to give better answers.

The weight of the items in the fridge will likely weigh close to the 25kg in itself, plus 25kg seems light for a fridge of that size. Is that accurate?

How high do you need the platform to be? Plywood is strong but if you wanted it above ground I'd build a supporting structure using stud wood and put the ply on top of that. Depending on where the legs for the fridge are you may well only need to build that around the outside edges of the ply.

    Thank you all
The plywood will be supported at each end (900mm span), one side will be on 1/2 brick wall, the other end will be 3 x 2 inch timber screwed in the wall at 3 location. the room is 900mm wide hence the 900mm size. Fridge will be used on daily basis and has base of 55.3 x 58.4 cm.

Thats not enough support in my opinion

The 2 supporting 3x2 need legs

There needs to be 3 x 2 from one support to the other 1 at the back 1 at the front under where the fridge feet are

So, is it sort of shelf then, not a platform? How high from the floor?
And no, 12mm isn't good for a shelf.

It’s not just whether it would support the weight, but also how much it would sag over time, or bounce.

The op hasn’t said why he wants to use 12mm ply, rather than say 25mm, which would be four times as strong.

No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

The 3x2 will have support each end to the floor, it's abount 1 ft high from the floor.
Yes would move to next thickness if 12mm not suitable.
