I once closed an account with the Nationwide and asked them to transfer the closing balance to my current account.  The entry in the current account showed as Cash Credit.

It could be cash, a deposit from another Nationwide account, an in-house (Nationwide) cheque or something less common like a foreign cheque (which they no longer accept).
  • Thank you everyone for your assistance.  I want to nationwide and they suspect that I had a bond with them which matured and was credited as "Cash Credit".
