Please could anyone tell me if this company, First Call are any good.
Ive been with the AA for a year now and am due a renewal, they want to charge me £89 for Roadside Recovery and Relay, Not Homestart.
I looked at insuresupermarket.com and this First Call is coming up at £39 for there better cover including homestart.
Just a bit wary as ive never heard of them before!
Thanks for any info xx

PS don't think they will jump start 737's or 747's !0 -

Has anyone actually had a breakdown with them and seen the service when u really need it?.
Called the AA to cancel and bless they tried really really hard to price match but they said they couldnt get it close to that price Without homestart, let alone with it!
How can they do it for such a low price if the AA cant?0 -
Hi - Sorry I am not going to be much help either. I am also with them - but on Martins' recommendation (through this site), and to be honest - like you've said nobody else comes close. And no, I havent had a breakdown yet either.Any fool can pay full price!!0

Hi - Well I spoke too soon!!!................I had to call them yesterday. The whole sorry story (and I know anyone reading this will laugh and think how could anyone be so stupid - but obviously I am)....
Went out in car, went shopping, got back to car with child and shopping in tow - have no keys. Why??? Because they are sitting on the back seat of my car looking at me (and grinning I'm sure). Thats ok I think, I have First Call and excellent cover (or so I thought), all bar putting me up in a five star hotel with a show in London. So I rang and the lady said - if you read your policy carefully (how can I - its in the car with my keys!!!), locking your keys in the car isnt covered. $$££XX&***%%$$$ And other expletives!
So the lady was very lovely at first call and gave me a telephone number of 'Autokey' who can help me out - only problem was she gave me the accounts department number, who gave me another number which rang out and rang out, and rang out....
By now my two year old is getting extremely frustrated - she's not the only one-So I called back to First Call, and was put through to someone who was really helpful (she could hear my trantrumming two year old in the back ground!) and found me a local garage chap (well local to where I was) who came out and sorted me out (thank you ADR of Halesowen!). I had to pay him, but although I wasnt covered for this First Call were very good in trying to help me.
Moral of this story - READ YOUR POLICY!!!! I know I did when I took it out, but its only at times like this when you read it and take stuff in!!!Any fool can pay full price!!0 -
Thanks Kathryn!
The service was excellent then!
I will read the policy carefully lol im more than likely to lock my keys in the car, luckily my sister is an ex dodgy character and can advise me on getting them out! lol0 -

I just got the renewal details from AA and they want to charge me £12 more than the price on their website! I knew they would do this - I was ready for them.
Sent a very polite letter telling them that I did not feel that this was acceptable treatment, and asking them to charge me the same price as they offer other customers. And also to reply in time for me to cancel my payment if necessary.
I still may go elsewhere though. I'm glad I found this thread, I couldn't find one the other day. Well done trolleydolly!0 -
SNAP!!!

I have asked around at work today and no one had heard of them but like you say they seem to offer good service at a very good price, why are they so cheap compard to other companies.
