Removing conservatory - options for external wall

As the title, I’m going to take down a conservatory. The wall to the house has been plastered, and there is a double skinned wall on the boundary with the neighbour.

I intend to remove the wall and replace with fencing, and remove 6” of concrete floor (assuming it’s been laid in 2 layers.

With regards to the plastered wall, should I just chip it off or what other options can you think of?

thanks in advance

I've had this question too, some suggestions here: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6408424/removing-conservatory-possible-to-restore-brickwork/p1

Haven't done it yet, decided to wait until spring to hopefully find a new owner for the conservatory  :)

Leave it and over couple of years it will probably fall off naturally. Then clean the bricks with a wire brush.

Yes you can chip it off but you will be sorry, it will be a hell of a mess, some bits will be left on some bits of brick will come off, you will have chisel marks all over the place.

You need to camouflage it somehow

The double skin wall can come down but depending how it has been tied into the existing will decide if thats a mess or not.

The 6" concrete floor if thats how thick it is maybe a 4" concrete with a 2" sand and cement screed, you will need a breaker

Might even find some insulation under the screed.
You're going to need a pretty large skip or two.. Might be worth hiring a half tonne tracked tipper if you have decent access up the side of the property.

I would check out skip rates, last time I needed 18m cube to take away a grab lorry was the best price and the easiest job

Yep a grab will be my choice, at £130 it’s relatively cheap compared to a skip. I’m also quite used to a wheel barrow - 28tn of concrete in my last drive, along with 18tn type 1 and 12tn shingle soon builds the muscle memory 😂
biggest issue was the grab say they couldn’t pick it up from the back so I had to move all the concrete to the other side……

Thanks! I had the same idea of selling it as saves the money/time getting rid of it

Thanks, we’ve just been talking about cladding the house at the front so we could do the back at the same time!
