What type of Dealer was it?
I assume not a main dealer or one of the national "car supermarket" sites. Was it a backstreet dealer?0 -
Hi, this is what Which says about buying a faulty car on finance -

The dealer can't just sell you a load of junk and then wash their hands of it, no matter what they say and no matter whether the car is brand new or 10 years old. It has to be fit for purpose and as described, by law.

You can also find details of motors online before you actually buy them. More info from Citizens Advice in the following link -

You can also contact Citizens Advice to ask them what you need to do, if you can't get any help elsewhere.
PS Are there any dealers near you where you can physically go and have a look at a car and perhaps give it a test drive? I hate to say it but distance buying just doesn't seem to be working out very well for you.
Also, if there is anyone not to have faith in, it's a used car dealer. Sad but true. You have to ensure that you double check all the facts and figures yourself. Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. you’re probably right about the distanced thing!0 -

I had faith in the dealer , as they sent me a hpi check showing 1 owner, I did MoT check it, and was all good there.
What does your own HPI show? If they've faked one up to make it look like 1 owner then that's pretty dodgy.0 -
Mikej92 said:The finance provided me with their hpi which shows 4 previous owners at said time.

If you've got proof of them saying 1 owner, take the car back and reject. You have a year to do in most cases, although it is better the quicker you do it. Go through the Motor Ombudsman.
