What happens if on UC and private landlord increases rent?

You can't compare housing benefit to housing element. Yes people are concerned but the rules are you can't report a change until that change has occurred.

I'm not saying they don't exist but I do feel it's better for a person to read them theirself

When claiming UC when you report a change of circumstances, you can't put a date in the future because that change hasn't happened yet.

So  might not be an issue of it not being allowed under any "rules"  of the legislation that have been set out, but how they set up the system doesn't allow any forward dates, so it's the system "rules"

Clear to me now,  you can't as the system won't let you.
