In the above scenario and in spite of Danny being a "very silly boy" would there still be a case here to prosecute for perverting etc. for one or both to answer?

Not much of a lesser sentence, I imagine. Magistrates' guidance on the issue suggests a reduction of perhaps 5%-10% for a guilty plea "at the door of the court" on trial day. The prosecution would also ask for their full trial costs as they would have prepared the matter for trial.1
