Any Security Cameras that can act like trail cams?

Some elderly relations of ours wanted a camera to keep an eye on the house from the back garden however, they don't have the internet so putting one of those trail cameras hidden in a tree which are battery powered and save video to a memory card solved this issue.
They would like to do the same on the front garden but trail cameras don't work through glass windows and it would be easy to spot the camera on the front garden.
Do any indoor cameras exist which work like a trail cam but through a window (battery powered and saving data to memory card) i can't find any myself which don't require apps and web connection.

through a window will be difficult, If the cameras use PIR to trigger recording that will not pass through a pane of glass.
are they aware of the legalities of hiding CCTV cameras? there should be warning signs anyway , nothing wrong with cameras being on show it's a deterrent1 -
At work we had a cctv camera in a designed for purpose casing, and it struggled with the reflections and refractions depending on what the sun and raindrops on the front glass were doing at the time of day (i mention it because the couple of issue where we had requests to view from the local police were 5-6am summer time rather than in the dark).
The Samsung DVR we had could be setup to tag recordings when it noted movement (ie change) on the camera rather than having to sit through hours of footage (not forgetting that most cctv cameras don’t record on board, but have to be connected to a dvr or server that records the signal remotely, otherwise they would just steal the camera…).0
