We used to use Formil from Lidl, which was rated by Which? and we were very happy with it. We pre-treated stains with Vanish though. When Covid struck, we started using Persil Hygiene Professional 130 wash and it's very good but expensive. Really expensive. It will deal with MRSA, e.coli etc at 40C.

Although we pre-treat stains with Vanish, I was doubtful that it would cope with beetroot juice on a hand-embroidered Portuguese bedspread from MIL. I bought Sodasan non chlorine bleach from Amazon and it came up like new. 

Am considering ditching Dettol Laundry Cleaner as I don't think it really works.
