Value laundry powder.

  • I tried both Morrison’s and Tesco value and found they were both rubbish.  I ended up washing my clothes again.

“Which” did an in depth review of laundry cleaners last year.  Some ideas from the results

For the best results, it's worth considering buying different types of detergent to tackle different laundry loads, as powders, liquid detergents and capsules each have their own strengths. Use our handy guide below, based on our extensive experience testing laundry detergents, to decide what you need.

    • Liquid and gels - keeps colours bright, but not always great at keeping whites pristine.
    • Capsules - great for speed and convenience, but can struggle with heavily soiled clothes.
    • Powder- great for extra bright whites and heavily soiled items, but tends to fade coloured clothes.

Bio powders are much better at removing stains than non bio.  Sainsbury’s is the best closely followed by Aldi

Non bio Morrison’s is the best.

I do most of my washing with Morrison’s non bio and find it works very well.

Unlike liquids and gels, powder contains bleaching agents.

I use bio powder for whites and colour powder for everything else (no bleaching agents in the colour powder).  Cheapest option, and very effective provided you don't use too much powder.  If you measure and use the directed amount (or slightly less) you get clean clothes with no residue.

Been using Smol laundry and dishwasher tablets for ages now.  Both work very well and get delivered through the letterbox.

I currently use an eco egg-it's a plastic egg filled with pellets-works great. I add a powder stain remover in to certain washes as and when needed. But it's great for those with sensitive skin.

I realise that not everyone has acces, but might have a friend who do - my sister had recommended Costco's Kirkland liquid.
I myself am on a hunt for new laundry detergent and was going to try it.
Last one I bought was Daz, after internet research and recommendation and have to say not impressed.
My OH cannot eat without spills or stains and I have to rewash all his stuff twice.
This week I took hoody out with maybe tiny oil stain? that it did not wash, used 1 drop of fairy and run it under a tap and it was gone..
So want something better. Used to use Aldi before and that was ok

The other tip I saw somewhere (maybe on here???) was to deal with the stains/ dirty marks  with neat wash/ spray stain remover/ neat Fairy/ stain wash bar - whatever- and then wash at 30 degrees rather than washing the whole lot at 50/60 degrees. Might want to experiment

I soak my whites/ dishcloths in a bucket of boiling water with similar to napisan. Often then wash with the rest of load at 30 degrees
I use soda crystals in every wash load one level tablespoon in every wash load brings out all the stains. I suffer with nose bleeds and it removes all the blood from clothing and bedding. I bought a load of 1 Kg bags about 25, over a few weeks, a few years ago when Home bargains had them at 79p per bag I still have a couple left in the cupboard.
Someone please tell me what money is

well I tried the vape powder and it was rubbish. Stains remained and I had to either rewash with a bunch of stain remover or have on washing live all day to bleach the marks out. False economy using it as it cost more to rewash.
