Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Very dark and windy start to the day.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy..
Dinner was chicken wrapped in bacon, mash, veg and gravy - lovely it was too. Not sure what we'll be eating tonight.
Lots to do today but first food shopping.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
The dry start to yesterday didn't last long, we had torrential rain for hours! This morning is a more promising start with the moon shining brightly.
A white wash was done last night, it's still drying on the rack. I had my coat to dry too as I got soaked bringing in the bins and putting coal in the bucket. Coal has gone up again, may be cheaper to put the heating on!
Sounds like hard work Nanny but it'll look lovely when it's all done.
A wedding in Seoul Gers? How exciting.
Hope you're OK Ruby and Nelski, missing you.
Friday at last, it's been a long week! I'll go and visit DD and the little one on my way home this afternoon before I come home for a clean and tidy up in the house.
Happy Friday, take care. XX10 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. I've been laid listening to the gale force wind out there, expecting the roof to take off. Being high up and on the corner I am at the mercy of the wind coming from all directions. I hate wind more than rain or snow! And talking of snow that is now forecast for next week! Ok weather moan over!
Well yesterday's gloat over getting freezer stocks down to a more manageable level didn't last long! DD rang to see if I wanted to go grocery shopping with her. I should have said no! She has lists for each individual sm (Sainsbury's, Aldi and Morrisons) and of course I was sucked in by all the tempting offers and ys! So the big freezer is now rammed again with more stuff back in the small overflow freezer!!
Today is Friday Tidy day and I will be testing out my new vac. I don't think the run time is as long as my old one so I may need an extended coffee break between downstairs and upstairs while I charge the battery up a bit!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, recovering or just fed up. Special hugs for our missing friends. Take care all and be safe xx

Morning folks. Thank for starting us off nmlc.As Camelot said, yesterday was another absolute howler of a day. Torrential rain from mid afternoon until well into the night. More to come.My trip up Oban was enjoyable, I'll miss the company when my friends collect their replacement car in a couple of weeks. I stopped with them for a hour to chat and waste time until my power came on again. As it happened it came on about 30 minutes before planned so I wasn't bothered by it too much. All the things which are internet powered (lights and plugs) all connected back without any faffing at all.My nephew FaceTimed me from Seoul, he's trying to book hotel rooms for his party and I want to book my flights. It's getting a tiny bit exciting now and I'm a bit less anxious now that I've found an app which not only translates speech it translates text. Even my nephew didn't know about this function so spent ages translating the writing on packets of biscuits and book covers. 😂Today won't be so exciting. No travelling anywhere, not even locally. I shall revert to type and sloth around. In the afternoon I'll watch for the postie, that engages me for a couple of hours as he can arrive anywhere between 1.30 and 4.30pm. He brings my post directly to my door so I like to meet him as he drives up. I'll read all about everyone doing great things, moving mountains, decorating rooms, building stuff and so on, I'll cheer from the edges.More hugs and thoughts to our missing and poorlies. Ruby, Nelski, Marie, Mehefin, Poppy - you're still missed. Happy Friday to all.11

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.It's been very windy here, like everywhere else it seems.I wasn't out yesterday apart from picking up Dgs from school and bringing him back here for tea.Dd actually got a Drs appointment yesterday, he gave her some anti b's, she's had a bad week with that ear infection.TA, I'm trying to run the freezer stocks down , but when you see bargains in the supermarket it's hard to resist.Nanny, good luck with all that work you're doing at home, it'll look lovely when it's done. That's the classic phrase in this house. We are going to paint our staircase, but we'll plan it carefully. It's a high staircase and the days when we happily worked on and on till mid evening are long gone. Everyone we know of our age has someone in to decorate, but we'll give it a go. It's only painting, no wallpapering, that is too big a job for us now, on the stairs anyway. We haven't bought the paint yet, we'll get that and probably start next week.Thinking of our poorly friends, take care folks.10

Morning all and thanks for the start @nmlc x
I've been MIA these past two days as I was in the London office. Could have done with WFH yesterday as woke up with a terrible migraine. Unfortunately I'd left my laptop in my locker so couldn't WFH! Managed to clear the migraine with copious orange squash, paracetamol and a plain pretzel from M&S!
Lovely to read of wedding plans in Seoul @Gers, how exciting!
Good luck with the decorating @nannywindow - we are all decorated out after last year's home improvements! This year will be garden sorting!
Yes @TravellingAbuela I saw that we are due snow next week! I'm meant to be in the office Monday and Wednesday so we shall see if the trains play ball!
Dinner tonight is a SW easy chicken curry. We've tried a couple of new recipes this week and none have disappointed. FC tomorrow morning but don't seem to have lost anything this week, we shall see...
DS2 is due back at uni on Sunday so he's to do his washing today. DH did ours yesterday and tumble dried it all - so much for watching the pennies.
Hope the poorlies are doing okay and sending hugs to all those in need.

Morning everyone it’s been a wild and windy night it’s supposed to calm down a bit today but it’s chilly Camelot I am writing everything down that I spend as it’s our first year with the log burner it’s expensive for logs and the ovoids keeps going up we are wondering if it is cheaper to put the gas on I will tot it up and work it out what we have used and how much about March . Scarlet I know what you mean about decorating I have seen the hubby come in off night shift and have the living room ceiling done before the kids got up for school emulsion the walls while I dropped them off then I would come back and do the gloss while he got his head down for a few hours now it takes us a week and we do nothing but moan all the time we are doing it about how every bone in our bodies are aching. TA I have just got two gammon steaks and 3 packs of 20 Cumberland sausages for 2 pounds I’m like you I will never get my freezer down although I might be glad of it the bosses told us yesterday when they had a surveyor in the business was going up for sale so I am looking for a job I only have 15 months to do and I retire I might be lucky they might not get a buyer in that time we will see . Scarlet pleased DD got some help yesterday ear ache is painful Coxy good luck with SW .thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing9

bellabella said:Gers Seoul sounds amazing not one people would usually visit but interesting nonetheless bit like DD1 and I and our unscheduled stop in Djibouti. ve a good day xxIt's not somewhere I'd choose to visit, however my nephew (number two of the original four) has settled there and making a good life for himself with the law firm. His girlfriend is delightful and I'm chuffed to be able to be at a wedding. None of the other three have bothered!Bella - I think a winter rut is part of the season, it's so easy to not bother when the outside is so uninviting.Izzy - the cost of logs has increased so much since last year. It's the demand for wood as a lot of people have turned to a woodburner hoping to avoid the energy price rises. No escape. So far, the rain has stopped and the sun is trying to get out from behind the clouds, there's a hint of blue sky. Last night I woke up so hot and had to fling off the extra blanket. Weird weather.10

Hi everyone,
I am sitting enjoying a quiet cup of tea, thinking about the probable pandemonium at home. While on the subject of tea am I the only person in the country who hates Yorkshire tea. I had one yesterday which brought it to mind, I knew instantly, the stuff just tastes of pepper to me and is undrinkable.
I washed all the mattress and pillow protectors yesterday, thankfully they don't take long to dry so I'll put them back this morning. I want to clean the windows today and all the skirting boards, I'll try to remember to do a web hunt as well, I forget about the spiders.
I also want to visit the cheese shop and pick up some goodies. I shall hunt for a calendar as well, I didn't get one for Christmas and I ordered one from Amazon which doesn't seem as if it will arrive, I'm a bit of a Luddite in that I like to see my commitments on paper all at once, not scrolling through the phone.
Have a good day.10 -
Good Morning
The sun is shining but very windy here. Went back to bed this morning for an hour as doggie goes out in the garden then waits at the bottom of the stairs as she likes to go back to bed for a nap too.
I will take her for a walk shortly and try and avoid all the mud.
I need to go shopping, clean and make food for work. Hoping to get a bit more sleep before nights.
DM is much improved thankfully although she’s still quite tired.
Wishing everyone a good day. Ruby, Nelski hope you come back soon. Thinking of Poppy, Marie & JackieO. Hugs to anyone that wants one. Take care.
