Monitor for cctv

Hey guys,

Do I've been using a pc monitor for my cctv. The monitor has died but I have a spare tv. I was wondering how I can use the tv to act as a monitor for my cctv.

I'm not very tech savvy but having a look at the cctv box which is QVIS I can see it was connected to the old monitor using the tiny blue scart. It also was connected using a switching adapter.

Any help would be appreciated

    Blue Scart?

I think you mean one of these:

If the TV has PC in and the same connections (the blue one) it should work.

Ahhh, yes that's the one. The tv takes a different scart and it's a bigger scart lead.

There's only one type of SCART lead, they're all the same size, otherwise it wouldn't be a standard.

What TV do you have exactly?

A piccie of the connectors or even the make and model would help, likewise details of the camera would make it so much easier than random guesses, getting info is a bit like pulling teeth

As Neil says there is only one Scart connector which is quite large compared to other connectors. The one shown in the picture above is a VGA connector which most modern TV's dont have and of course some TV's have HDMI or even red/white & Yellow phono plugs for sound and video. Are you plugging the camera directly into the "monitor" or have you got a CCTV recorder, if so tell us what make and model

It's really hard to work out what connector you've got on your CCTV camera, recorder or even what you've got on your telly, so gives us some pictures please
