Car insurance renewal price

I am with Churchill car insurance and the quote has increased this year to,
£281
On a comparison website there is one company called Flow offering the same level of cover for £234.
On that comparison site Churchill are quoting £236. Is it unethical to let the current Churchill cover lapse and then take out a new Churchill policy?

I'd ring your insurance company, let them know what price you've been quoted on the comparison site and see if they can reduce it. I was with hastings and my insurance renewal quote was £900+ pounds. I checked on go compare, and could get cover for roughly £680.
So I rang them to let them know, and they reduced my insurance to just below £700, virtually matching the quotes that I'd found. I've always typically rang when renewing because I've more often than not got a better deal1 -
You need to compare cover not prices.
Churchill may be cheaper on comparison site, but cover may not be the same as being offered on your renewal. For example courtesy car cover, DOC, legal cover, breakdown cover etc can all be optional extras.
Flow are a relatively new brand of LV and are in "grab market share" mode at the moment so are often top of comparison site, but their cover isn't as comprehensive as a general LV policy.

It maybe worth me calling Churchill.
Yes, I made sure the details were taken from my written quote, so the level of cover and excesses are the same.
The only thing is, Churchill are offering me Green Flag breakdown cover including homestart (which I do want) for £44. The Flow quote offer BD but not homestart.
I am currently with AutoAid who quoted me £77 this year.0
