I have purchased a chair through very, its to big for my house and isn’t at all comfortable, it was delivered today, when I have logged on to try and return it, it says Under our Home Approval Guarantee this item may be non-returnable. I thought I had 14 days to return something from online shopping ? Can anyone help

You do have 14 days for an online purchase, assuming you didn't previously view it in store (Very are online-only, aren't they?).  Perhaps logging on doesn't give you that option, you may have to call or email them?

Resist the temptation to read about their Home Approval Guarantee.
In legal terms you are not 'returning' the chair. What you wish to do is to cancel the sale as you are allowed to do under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

Helpfully, Very's Online Help System explains the difference between returning under their guarantee and cancelling under CCR, and describes the process to do this.

Note that under their Home Approval Guarantee, Very would have paid for return but when you cancel under the CCR you must pay the cost of return. This is legal.
