OVO E7 day rate the same as standard rate?
I have an Economy 7 meter, I'm with OVO in the East Midlands.
I was going to switch to a flat rate after the recent E7 price changes as I don't use enough at night. When I went on to CS the guy was adamant I shouldn't switch as OVO's E7 day rate is currently the same as their standard rate - both 39.55p.
Is he correct?

I did suspect he was talking rubbish but he was adamant!0 -
If it were true, every customer would move to E7, as there would be no day-rate surcharge. No free lunch, and no free laptop

If the single rate would be identical to the day rate on E7 why would you anybody switch.
You pay the same during the day and you get cheaper night electricity, so you would lose by switching to single rate.
Reality is that the day rate is always higher than single rate, otherwise everybody would take E7 if you cannot lose.0 -
I'm on an energy group on Facebook and quite a few people have posted screenshots of E7 day rates within a penny or two of standard tariffs, so I can well believe this.0

Usually around 20p per kWh. If memory serves it's usually Bulb. No, they haven't switched to a single rate tariff, if that's what you're thinking.EssexHebridean said:
