Loft ladder fitting charge?

How much I should be expecting to pay for fitting a loft ladder (typical 2-3 stage aluminium ladder) and may be a new loft hatch?
I want the fitter to buy a suitable ladder and fit.

Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.

Typical (B&Q) loft ladder kit only £100 - £250. Will probably also need architrave etc . Paint to finish. Dependant on existing hatch, removal and or making good. Fitter to supply (travel to/from supplier). I wouldn't expect much change from £500/£600 (South East, about a days work)0

I agree. However, for the same work, I'd be hoping for 160 to 200 max and 200 should do it - that gives the person a whole day, 8 hours and any half-decent carpenter could easily do it well within that time. Plus the cost of the ladder and some may be easier to fit than others. This is a loft lader in the existing aperture.

Sorry, i did mean all in @ £500/600 - ie £100 for ladder, £20 architrave/paint, about 60/90 mins 'shopping, and a few hours fitting.0

There is a company that regularly advertise in the Round and About magazine from royal mail, for the oxfordshire/Buckinghamshire/Berkshire/Northampton area and they advertise:
“Remember that our loft packages start from as little as £444 inc VAT. That includes an aluminium loft ladder, a light and switch in addition to 50 sq. ft. of boarding.”
Not used them but keeping it in mind for a loft ladder and hatch myself.0 -
No idea how accurate this is https://www.checkatrade.com/blog/cost-guides/loft-ladder-installation-cost/
Google loft ladder installation for your area then ask for quotes.

I'm not sure if it is England wide, but where we live, its awful - some siblings in midlands, Yorkshire cite the same, ie diffiuclt to get hold of a builder, prices rocketing and works standards close to rubbish and leave half unfinnished
I never pay up front unless a big project and then in stages when goals are met not just timing.
OP, advertise your job and see how it goes, advert on one of those builder sites but do your research etc and take feedback with a pinch of salts.
