Thank you. We will risk it and submit the appeal tomorrow. I am keeping everything crossed right now. I have never been this stressed. Thank wall for your kind suggestions.

If you tell your LL in writing that you will surrender voluntarily on the 27th then they would be very foolish to persist with bailiff action just 48 hours prior. This will cost them £100's in bailiff and locksmith costs that they may not ever be able to recover from you.
If you leave voluntarily then there is no need for an eviction and forced entry.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

The problem is, we can't move everything on 27th. We'll most likely need at least two days to move everything and clean up. I've already arranged for a cleaner to come and clean. The fact that I am disabled, I am quite limited with what I can do so husband is having to do most of the stuff. I am just glad we finally found a place. I've had sleepless nights past few months.

When the bailiffs turn up to evict you they usually give you 14 days to return to remove your possession. Have you got friends you could stay with for the few nights with an overnight bag then return on the 27th to remove your furniture.

I hear its at the discretion of the bailiffs to give you 14 days. They might not so we can't risk it

Poppy, I really would speak to your landlord. They may agree to defer for a few days with written confirmation that you will move out on 27th/28th as that could avoid them incurring extra costs in the evection process which they will try and recover from you.

You stand to lose nothing by asking.

True, and could also offer to pay the landlord a couple of hundred as a show of good faith

I’ve been present at about 20 bailiff evictions and on every occasion 14 days was given. You only need two days so I think you will find the bailiffs will accommodate that.

So, we spoke with shelter and CAB, they said the bailiffs had already send us a letter two weeks ago that they'll be here on Monday. It is very unlikely they'll give us another 14 days. Too risky
