Hi,

I wondered if anyone can offer a perspective on Electoral Registration (anonymously) and credit scoring.

I am listed on my local authority Electoral Register (ER) as an anonymous voter for security / work purposes.

The issue I have is this - does this affect your credit score ? If you go onto Equifax, Transunion uk, etc I am shown as Not listed on the ER (I am).

I m not shown to protect me / us. The score they provide is reduced I know this score is worthless ... but in general if my score ie reduced there - then how will the banks look at it, is there anything I can do in this regard to improve my situation ?

Needing a loan soon - so advice is appreciated on this topic and thank you ....

ER is used to verify names and addresses and potentially address tenure and history too.

What is the loan for, do you need it or want it?

Speak to your own bank, as they may have an internal rating for you, without the need to check externally with CRA's. Admittedly a while ago, I borrowed from Yorkshire Bank, they never left a check on my credit report with any external CRA.
