Harrods £40 Hampers NOT HAPPY

Options
Hi,

I brought 5 Harrods Hampers, these were £40 each with £5 postage per hamper.

Upon getting them they are the size of a shoe box and on the website under contents it described they had coffee and tea in them, no coffee only spearmint tea. These baskets looked quite big on the website. Oh and now all hampers have been removed from the website so there is no way i can show them what it said.

There is no returns note inside and i think if i want to return them i have to pay postage.

IM REALLY NOT A HAPPY BUNNY.... I have over £200 worth of hampers which i was buying for xmas presents but now wished i had gone Marks and Spensers.

ANY ideas on what to do ?#

Ps im sorry if i have posted this in wrong place but i didnt know where to post it ?

  • I'm sorry but Harrods is really expensive, you can't buy much for £40.00 there. It must have stated the sizes of the items on the website?
A minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.

Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels.

cAN'T YOU TART THEM UP WITH SOME OTHER INGREDIENTS LIKE POSH,sorry caps, bikkies or coffee or a bottle of wine, asda were selling 25cl bottles of good wine for a quid I saw somewhere on here .good luck though m'dear, think you can really bulk them out for next to nothing if you put your mind to it .Sorry they turned out poorly for you but don't let it spoil your chrissy, just put it down to experience and vow never to go to harrods again!!

  • Was it the Chelsea hamper? I had a hamper catalogue - don't know why they sent it to me! - and it does say only tea under the Tea & Coffee heading on the contents list, but it is a bit misleading.
  • I would recommend M&S hampers. You can also order your own hampers to be made up if you go into the store.

This is what it says on the website - but it takes a while to read through the "rules":

If you your order has already been dispatched then the item will have full return instructions in the packaging. Please be aware for reasons of hygiene certain items are non-returnable. For more information please refer to our online Terms & Conditions.

    T&C's:
    4. Returns Policy

4.1 The Returns Policy is for goods purchased on the website or over the telephone or by fax or post.
4.2 Unwanted goods may be returned for a refund or exchange provided they are returned in their original condition, unused within 14 days of delivery with the Returns Form provided.
4.3 Please note that cancellations or alterations to orders containing perishable goods and Hampers/Gift Boxes must be made within 24 hours of ordering (with the exception of faulty or incorrectly supplied goods).
4.4 Except in relation to faulty or incorrectly supplied goods where your statutory rights are unaffected the following items may not be returned: goods which have been made or ordered to a customer’s specification, newspapers and magazines, food, beverages and perishable goods (including flowers). For reasons of hygiene we do not accept the return of: toiletries, cosmetics, fragrances, hair accessories, swimwear, lingerie/nightwear/underwear, hosiery, millinery, scarves, pharmaceuticals products, woodwind and brass instruments, or pierced earrings. Audio or video recordings and computer software may only be returned if they have not been unsealed.
4.5 For computer and electronic products the original manufacturers' packaging is part of the goods, so please retain it for at least 28 days in case you wish to return them for any reason. Although your statutory rights as a consumer will not be affected, the goods are second hand without the packaging and we may not therefore be able to exchange them voluntarily. You can take the goods out of the packaging to try them out, but don't throw it away.
4.6 On receipt of the returned goods we will give you a refund of the amount paid for the goods. If you notify us of your intention to cancel your contract within 7 working days of delivery or 14 working days in the case of Harrods Gift Card orders in accordance with clause 15 (or prior to delivery) then the original delivery charge will be reimbursed in full - otherwise we do not refund the original delivery charge unless the goods are faulty or have been incorrectly supplied.
4.7 Refunds will be made against the original form of tender. Refunds and exchanges on purchases made on 10% event day are subject to a 10% adjustment. Please see in-store for further details.
4.8 When returning goods on which you have received a discount or special offer, that discount/offer will no longer apply if you fall below the discount/offer threshold and the refund will be adjusted accordingly. Additionally any free promotional gift issued with an order must also be returned if you are returning those goods.
4.9 How to Return or Exchange
4.9.1 Fill out the Returns Form enclosed with your order, noting whether you would like a refund or an exchange of your goods.
4.9.2 Use the Returns Label provided and attach it to the front of the original packaging. Package the merchandise to prevent damage, enclosing the Returns Form and the Despatch Note. If you no longer have the Returns Label, goods (excluding Hampers and Gift Boxes – see clause 9) should be sent to the following address:
    Harrods Home Shopping Returns Department
    Harrods Ltd
    87-135 Brompton Road
    Knightsbridge
    London
    SW1X 7XL
4.9.3 We strongly recommend that you use registered post, recorded delivery or another secure method of delivery, retaining the receipt until you have received credit for your return. We regret that we cannot be held responsible for non-delivery of returned goods.
4.9.4 If you wish to return goods that have been delivered to you at a pre-arranged delivery time, for example large or bulky goods, please contact the Home Shopping Customer Services Team on 0870 732 1234 to arrange collection or replacement.
4.9.5 Please note that the return costs will not be reimbursed. Postage or other return costs will be the customer's responsibility and will be reimbursed by us only in the case of damaged, faulty or incorrectly supplied goods.
4.9.6 The goods must be returned unused, in their original undamaged packaging. We will consider the condition of the goods being returned when making a refund.
4.9.7 You must return the item to us on cancellation in order to receive a full refund or exchange. If you notify us of your intention to cancel the contract but do not return the goods to us we reserve the right to deduct the cost incurred by us in recovering the goods, from any refund you are owed.
4.1.0 If you would like to discuss the exchange or return of any item, or have any further questions about our returns policy please contact our Home Shopping Customer Services Team on 0870 732 1234 (UK only) or on +44 (0) 20 8479 5100 (outside UK).
None of the above terms affect your statutory rights when goods are faulty or incorrectly supplied

Arent hampers full of all straw or paper that you cant use, and the products inside are items the store cant sell.

For £40 from harrods I would not expect very much.

I'd be tempted to put it down to experience, use the Harrods name as a basis & bulk them up a bit with some other "posh" items : Duchy of Cornwall biscuits, Crabtree & Evelyn soap, minature of brandy, block of cheese etc.

    HTH;)
