This may seem like a daft question as i dont suppose it may not make a huge difference and is not likey to make me much money (unlike A+L 5% for e.g.).but ive saw both the blue and the gold coloured debit card, however on the website i can only see pictures and reference to the blue one. I was just wondering what were the requirements to have a gold card? has anyone already got on, is it automatically given or do you have to demonstrate good account conduct to be upgraded....may sound materialistic i know..but im just curious

I 'only' have the blue one and didn't know they did a gold one! Nationwide aren't into that sort of thing, I don't think. From a quick look at the website they seem to offer separate ATM, debit and cheque cards (which are all different colours), if that is all you want, or an all-in-one card that I have. It's a pretty good current account.
They do change the designs every now and again and I wonder if the gold one was a previous design? Sorry I can't shed any light on this, can anyone else?0 -

P.S. Actually my card is Cash Reward one...0 -
Think the flexaccount cards are all blue, if you apply for a credit card and choose the classic card which is blue, if income is £25k+ they automatically offer the gold version of the classic card(not that I could tell you what extra benefits it offers)0

If you have one without the debit/cheque guarantee facility they're red. My one was, anyway..0

With the gold card you get a higher credit limit and if you lose your card abroad they will courier you a new card."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0 -
Yes, its the credit card which can be gold. Standard credit card is kind of greeny blue colour. Flexaccount cards come in three colours, blue for debit card/cheque combined, green for just cheque card, and red for cash card.
The gold credit card requires you earn something like more than £30,000 per year, much higher than most of the banks. If you look at it though, you don't actually get much more in terms of benefits from the gold compared to the standard card. Higher daily cash withdrawls for example, isn't particularly useful...0
