Morning All
Thanks for the start nmlc, hope you have a calmer day.
Wet and breezy this morning, will need an ark again soon with all the rain from yesterday too. The children didn't get out to play yesterday as it was too wet.
Work was ok, new HT seems keen and is ordering stuff like we have money, may have to burst his bubble today! It's a teacher's strike today but we still have to go in, will use the front door so I don't have to cross the picket line (if there is one).
Going in a bit later today as I have a parcel to collect and they don't open until 8 and close at 2, if I don't go today it'll be Saturday before I get the chance again. There used to be a later evening opening but that seems to have stopped.
Hoping everyone is OK and has a good Tuesday. Take care. XX11 -
Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.It seems a bit windy here, no rain though. Is anyone else having to sign in every morning before they can post? I've done it every morning since Christmas, strange.Book Club was ok yesterday morning, we got a reasonable looking book to read. This morning it's our Resident's Association meeting, that's in the function room of the library, so I'm there again. After the meeting I might cross the entrance into the library itself and get a couple of audio books out.The quiz starts again tonight after the seasonal break, it's all happening.today, don't know how I stand the pace.Thoughts to our poorly and fed up people, take care folks.12

Morning everyone what a horrible dark and wet day we have got off to work in a minute back in for a quick cuppa and my soup at lunch time then back to my main job and straight to WW after that hopefully I will have a loss I never know I seem to eat the same every week but sometimes I lose and sometimes I don’t. I have just said to my hubby this is the month when you need a holiday somewhere sunny it would definitely cheer people up these dark days are horrible. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing11

Good morning and thanks for the start @nmlc x
Raining here too. I need to strip the spare bed after DNiece stayed over, but that can wait for a drier day. We attended our neighbour's funeral yesterday. Standing room only and her son and husband both did a eulogy. Was very emotional as you can imagine. We didn't have a social friendship, just chatted over the garden fence and her son and our children played together as youngsters. All the tributes were for a really social and friendly and good for a laugh person, so felt a bit sad that we didn't have that all these years (18) we've lived next door.
We went to see the Whitney Houston biopic last night. Good film and loved the music, marred slightly by two women sitting behind us gassing for the first hour, until DH remonstrated with them. They said 'don't get angry!' like we're the ones with the problem. Just stay home and stream movies FGS!
Dinner tonight is SW dirty rice and peas - new recipe using black beans and lo gammon.
Have fun at the quiz night @ScarletRibbons x
Your colleague sounds really selfish @IzzyBee
Urgh I detest defrosting the freezer @TravellingAbuela, don't blame you for putting it off!
I'd love to have too big for me clothes @RosyRed - doubt that'll happen anytime soon!
Hugs to the poorlies - hope you're doing okay.

Morning folks. It's the calm before chaos here, after a really rotten afternoon and a dry night there's a band of wind and heavy rain heading my way. The upside is that it's fairly mild. Small mercies.I've slept really well. Apart from a little trip across the hall in the night I haven't stirred until a few minutes ago. The other day I put an electric throw on top of my duvet and then a light blanket on top of that. If I wake up cold, or even just wake up, I turn it on for some gentle heat. Maybe that helps.Yesterday I finally dealt with all the annoying papers 😀 scanned them, sorted the PDFs into PC folders and then burnt the hard copies. I felt quite virtuous for a wee while before I remembered how lazy I'd been beforehand. Weekly banking took five minutes this time.My cleaner is coming late this morning so I need to have a quick tidy up, nothing much just bits and pieces to put in their correct place rather than handily left on the surface nearest my armchair. 😂 When she's here I'll go into town. The wardrobe conundrum still isn't sorted. I can live without the clothes but the actual thing has three very useful drawers underneath which are filled with bed linen and jumpers, and a top shelf which houses the towels. So, I'd need to replace it with another piece of furniture if it went to wardrobe heaven. Thinking about it goes on.Scarlet - not every morning but certainly more often than a year or so ago.Now we have some long term residents in the poorly ward who we miss a lot 🙁 I hope that they can get better and be discharged very soon and come back to us. Happy Tuesday to all.12

Just a quick hello from a soggy mehefinland
much improved healthwise but still have a way to go. want/need to build back the 19kg I lost in December. Starting to eat more so hopefully things are on the turn
Consultant pleased with last blood results but still wants more -another trip to the vampires on the cards!!
Substantial rains last night, field looked more like a paddy field this morning! Nags out eating though so it can't be that bad.
Farrier this afternoon too
Hugs and spoons as always

Morning everyone
Very dark here and pouring with rain - not the best weather for the first day back at school. I'm in at lunchtime today - there is a training session this afternoon so other members of staff can monitor little one's blood sugars and she can go to nursery without me being there.
I have a man here sorting the bathroom floor that got spoilt when the pipe leaked - if he's not finished when I leave I'll just ask him to go out the back door and post the key through the letterbox.
Little kitten is in a right tizzy running up and down the stairs - she doesn't like strangers much.
Eldest DD rang last night - very excited cos her boss told her she can go to Boston to work for a few months. Puma have offices there too so she asked a while ago if she could be sent there for the experience - it turns out yes she can - so she'll go and do the same job she does in Germany.
Probably in a few months time - so she's very excited.
Right, I'm going to get some jobs done - hope everyone has a good day x11 -

Rain, rain go away! Come again another day! (But not for a while
) Getting really fed up with the rain now - I think it's woken me early for at least 4 days now. Pooch and I had a very swift walk this morning! She is currently hiding under the table as 1 bin wagon has been, & still the noisy bottle/tins one to arrive. DH/DS2 rained off work again, but at least the brickies have finished now. Yesterday was a short day for them too, we went to get DGS from school, he was telling us all about his 1st day back. The school has a path that runs at the bottom of the raised sports field so gets very muddy and wet- yesterday we had to wade through a load of water- I heard 1 child exclaiming about his brand new school shoes getting spoiled!
Thanks nmlc for the start. Camelot, perhaps you'll get more done with the school shut. Enjoy your quiz Scarlet.Gers, it's so easy to just leave things next to a chair, perhaps you've spurred me on.Sorry nattering women spoiled the film Coxy! Good luck at WW, Izzy,Not much on the agenda today. I think tea will be bangers and mash for the men, not sure what I'll have but there are some chicken pieces in the fridge- need to check the date on them. We had some ys fish from MnS last night.I've not heard from my old neighbour yet about us meeting this week, I can only assume things aren't too good with her DDad, & don't want to bother herTime for another cuppa I think! Take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)9 -
I go away, wash my hair, dry my hair (so new!), make a coffee and find some lovely news here.Great, Mehefin, now keep on that trajectory.Wow - DP1, that's some work experience place for your DD. Perhaps you can get across for a visit whilst she's there? That would be so brilliant.Bella - yes, I probably will keep it. There'll be too much hassle to change it for no good reason. I'm toying with trying to find a couple of wee drawer sets to fit inside. Maybe I've got too much time on my hands.
That's all for later.
The armchair table is now clear, I have no idea why I don't keep it that way every day.10
