How do I stop this?
1st off. I've been pre-payment now now for approx. 30 years. It suits us as it enables us to budget within our means.
2ndly We downsized sized to a 1 bed flat over a decade ago (just the wife * I so no real need for a house).
IMV, the energy market has gone topsy turvy over the last 5 years at least & to be brutal, find some of the antics hilarious.
Several years ago, my supplier went bust & ofgen in their wisdom sitched us to Ovo, who then went on to completely mess up so switched to Bulb.
All went well until June last year when I saw a report that they were in difficulties, so decided to switch.Shortly before that decision, I received an e-mail from Bulb.
"Dear Sirius, we noticed that you haven't topped up your gas in 4 months (topped up March 14 which ran out Sept 15).
As I said, hilarious.
Switched to Utilita late July 2021 & no issues until this summer.
Started getting numerous calls on mobile to which I always replied - not interested.
Until the last call. That turned out to be an abusive call centre member who went out on a limb to stated that I did not know what I was talking about, so hung up, then blocked the number.
Over the next few weeks taking us into Sept, received further calls but from different numbers, so ended up blocking them as well.
Peace & quiet until the week before last.
Received a text alert. Got voicemail & checking on phone, no missed calls..
Listened to message (Utilita). then deleted.
Received a further 4 last week, 1 Wed, 2 Thur & 1 Fri. Deleted them.
Received 2 today, 15:42 & 17:02.
The message.
"We're leaving this answerphone message & assure you it is nothing to worry about. We will call again later.
It's Utilita regarding the benefits of switching energy providers".
Hilarious.
The meters have been constantly in credit for years & current, gas at 90.45 & £98 ready on card. Electric £88.42 & £67 on key, Jan EBS voucher).
How do I put a stop to this spamming?
Ain't technology & progress great.

"benefits of switching energy providers" maybe that was a hint in the opposite direction than they were intending?0

You haven't said why they are trying to phone you. Have you listened to any of their calls to find out? It may be something they have to tell you under Ofgem regulations.
If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
So Utilita are trying to get in touch with you to move you to them even though you are with them?Is that what all the calls are about? In which case wouldn't it be easier to just answer the phone and say "I'm already with you" ?Seems easier than keep blocking the numbers and deleting voicemails.0

Tell them to remove you from all their (mail/text/phone/email) marketing lists.
Who knows how you got on the mailing lists, but in all the chaos of these company transfers worse crockups are happening.

Sorry folks, I should have been clearer. I did listen to their calls & at end of each stated not interested..
On the last call before the abusive one, I requested that they cease & desist. I was ignored.
All I want from an energy provider is energy - Electricity/Gas. Nothing more, nothing less.
I am not interested in competitions/ prize draws/mobile apps or any other non energy service.
It seems that it is no longer spamming but deliberate harassment as now getting these on a daily occurrence.
Using technology to bypass blocks is nothing short of a narcissistic attitude.
