Another RM delivery question

Item posted on 12 December, signed for.
Tracking is showing it is still in the post office - which seems unlikely. Post office person said someone else had been in asking about a parcel sent that day as well.
Buyer originally said there was no rush but I have not heard a peep out of them since. No query, no feedback.
I'm presuming if it hadn't arrived they'd have contacted me by now but I don't want to message them and rock the boat.
Just wondering how long to leave it before I can presume that no news is good news?

I've found that if sent via RM but purchased through eBay that the delivery is not always updated. I've had positive feedback from buyers where it shows it hasn't been delivered. I'd leave it alone and only worry if the buyer contacts you. If they have received it and you ask they might just say they haven't!1
