Double glazing/Replacing concrete guttering.

I need to do both these jobs unfortunately.  I've found a company and read the reviews on them in Trust Pilot.  They had good and bad reviews as do most companies.  The main complaint that bothered me was that a customer had the double glazing installed and a year later one of the units exploded.  They later had a second window explode.  Apparently the guarantee doesn't cover the glass.  According to the company's reply the case had gone to the ombudsman who found for the company (because a double glazing guarantee doesn't cover glass.  A double glazing guarantee doesn't cover glass.  Anyone have any idea why glass would explode or can shed light?

The only possible reason I see is that the unit was overloaded. Unless the house had serious structural problems, this is a result of poor/incorrect installation. Normally it's the frame that has to bear the load, if any, not the glass units.

if they "exploded" I imagine that the glass was toughened. Pretty much anybody that has sold shower enclosures for any length of time will have seen/heard of similar - hard to prove but the usual consensus is that it is due to the glass having a flaw & then receiving a shock (mechanical or thermal) triggering it.

Specifically re DG this is the highest return on Google. https://www.thewindowman.co.uk/explode.htm
