Quietly quitting never heard of that before
Have agreed to stay on at work for a year but cutting a day.Told would stay on same money as had taken on extra jobs ,covering for people when they were on holiday, plus being on call Answering at all times of the day and night including weekends.Going into work to sort problems also at night and weekends
After signing contract
Got an inkling before Xmas that things had changed slightly 🤔Feel conned
Now been told money will drop drastically. But they want same service
That is not going to happen. Now i will only be doing job I am paid for,no cover ,no on call etc
Or as other posters have said
I am quietly quittingRemember only people who say money doesn't matter have already got enough :think:8 -

            Quiet quitting.
When you've mentally left the building already and you're actually sitting in the garden with a cold beer... biding your time. How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)8 -
There can also be a bit of a halfway house, where you are still too far away to be quite yet dreaming of that cold beer, but you slowly withdraw from being too pro active, volunteering for new projects, have no further ambition, avoid training courses etc7

Hubby had been working for the same company for 37 years, his mother died in a house fire and several colleagues retired at SRA and died within a year.
He wasn't in a good place and I'd already calculated that we could live frugally with no mortgage and a reduced income.

Love the “quietly quitting” mantra which l fully intend to embrace matter of months to go, currently just playing the game getting my ducks lined up then that’s me done. Lost DH at 50 lve managed 8 more years but lm done now and people say you know when it’s time and it’s my time now.Count down to retirement 202316

My spreadsheets are all based on retiring in April 24 but knowing that makes the remaining 14 months feel incredibly difficult, I'd almost rather not know there was a finish point as it makes the getting there seem so long and hard.I think....7

I feel the same way having reduced my work week to four days. On the one hand it is great to work less hours, but on the other it just makes the days I do work harder to take!michaels said:My spreadsheets are all based on retiring in April 24 but knowing that makes the remaining 14 months feel incredibly difficult, I'd almost rather not know there was a finish point as it makes the getting there seem so long and hard.Think first of your goal, then make it happen!6 -

Does that include reducing hours too, or is that considered semi active quitting? Either way the parachute is on and I'm watching the clouds go past the aeroplane doorAlbermarle said:There can also be a bit of a halfway house, where you are still too far away to be quite yet dreaming of that cold beer, but you slowly withdraw from being too pro active, volunteering for new projects, have no further ambition, avoid training courses etc
