Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Very dark, damp and windy start to the day.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy..
Lunch yesterday was chicken, chips and salad. Dinner tonight I'm not sure possibly jacket potato, beans and cheese - Fridge use up.
Back to work this morning - good job I worked Saturday as was able to get sorted ready for this morning - yet another situation where the same person is not doing what they should and it's getting left to someone else - this has had to be reported to management again and again - I don't like doing that but it's not fair so I reported it to management - we'll see what happens from here.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
Thanks for the start nmlc, hope you get the issues sorted.
Damp and chilly this morning but not raining yet. I got the washing dried outside yesterday, just needed airing off by the fire in the evening. There are a couple of throws in the WM at the moment but they can dry on the pulley today.
Back to work for me, got everything organised last night. New HT so probably changes all round again. Looking forward to having a bit of structure back in my days.
Hope everyone is well, would be lovely to hear from you Nelski and Ruby. Hope you're feeling better Mehefin.
Right, off to the shower, happy Monday. Take care. XX10 -
Morning all. It's disconcertingly quiet outside, no wind or rain noises, perhaps the eye of weather. Yesterday was intermittently rainy so I didn't venture anywhere. I found myself doing mini-blocks of throwing stuff out. Then I gathered together all the paperwork from insurance companies and building societies (which still insist on sending the stuff out), pulled out a wee coffee table and got the flatbed scanner set on it and then got distracted by Silent Witness. Mind you, I have no idea what that was about. The chap up the hill brought me some of his homemade stalkers pie, very yummy I'm sure though it's in the freezer. I'm getting convinced that he's keeping an eye on me 😂 but it's very obvious that I'm eating more than properly and not starving. Anyway, my food for the week is all planned and waiting in the fridge so in the freezer the pie went. All the detritus from on the wardrobe base is now gone. 🎉 Most in the bin though a lot taken to the CS on Saturday. I don't have clothes which need to be hung up, apart from coats and jackets. The ones in the wardrobe are those I haven't worn in years, those I do wear are on the hooks by the front door with a a couple of spares in the car. My quandary is now about whether I keep them or not. It needs more thinking about.Today I most definitely will scan the papers and burn them, do my weekly banking and peek at another drawer - probably the stationery one. 😱 Anyone need pens, pencils or post-it notes?
I'm sending to our poorlies and the sad, energy to those who are busy and happiness to all.12 -
Morning everyone NMLC hope you get sorted at work it’s awful when you are in the situation I don’t mind working but I hate carrying anyone unfortunately there’s one everywhere and they are experts at getting away with it . I’m off to get my haircut before work not in until 12 had cancelled my haircut to help out at work but set it back up again when the bone idle one from work came in and said I’m not doing all that it will give me back ache then promptly rang in sick on Saturday with Covid she only works Saturdays and has everyone off leading up to a bank holiday or busy times it’s got to be seen to be believed what she gets away with but I told them on Friday she will be off tomorrow don’t ring me and off course she was so I thought I’m not doing without my haircut when she’s getting away with that . All calm here but when is it going to get light I think we are due a few showers but it’s not to cold . Ham potatoes and salad tonight I have froze some ham off my large joint bargain we have had some and there’s some left out for sandwiches for hubby for a couple of days it’s really stretching I will make a couple of pasta dishes and some soup as well out of it . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10

Morning all and thanks for the start @nmlc - not on that your colleague isn't pulling their weight - I hope you get it sorted.
The stalkers pie sounds interesting @Gers - I'm guessing venison?
Good luck with the new HT @camelot1001
We are attending the funeral of our neighbour today - just the crematorium part. Will work until 10am then be offline for a few hours. DNiece stayed over last night, so I'm hoping DD and DS2 can entertain them today. Lunch is leftover lamb and veg from yesterday and dinner will be SW chicken, kale and potato bake. The towels are to finish off in the TD today as DNiece is in the spare room.
Hope all the poorlies are doing okay - sending you positive vibes
Have a good day everyone,

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC. Hope work goes all right - there's always somebody who leaves their work for someone else, keep on reporting it though.I know what you mean about clothes that you don't wear Gers, I have clothes hanging there that I hardly wear. I don't lead the sort of life where I need to be smartly dressed all the time, on the other hand you have to keep some things. Difficult isn't it. Jeans, jumpers, fleeces and jogging trousers feature heavily in my wardrobe. We weren't out at all yesterday, I gave the bathroom a thorough clean, made a roast beef dinner, and just pottered about. This morning it's the book club at the library, and I'll pop into Morries for a red pepper, I forgot to buy one on Saturday.Thinking of our poorlies, RedRuby and Nelski, also Mehefin, and anyone else.Take care folks.13

Visitors come for the deer but don't get any of the meat.Izzy - you're so kind to your employer, more kind than I'd be.12

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Another damp and miserable start but it's supposed to brighten up later. GERS I wish I had a good neighbour delivering me pies regularly!
NMLC and IZZY Over the years I think we have all worked with someone prepared to leave the work to everybody else. It's so frustrating when they keep getting away with it.
I'm another with wardrobes full of stuff that never gets worn but I can't seem to get my ruthless head on to deal with everything that needs to go. I too live in jeans, t shirts or jumpers most of the time, except when it's warm/hot and a skirt might come out! I have two black winter skirts that I've had for years and they only get used for a funeral!
I need to defrost the big freezer soon, I'd have more room in there if I got rid of all the ice! Maybe today, we'll see. I am seeing daylight now in the small freezer and I live in hope I might soon be able to combine the contents of both in the big freezer.
Have a nice day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or fed up. I hope we get good news soon. Take care all and be safe xx

Morning everyone
Last day of Christmas holidays for me and I'm planning on being very lazy.
Can't go out anyways as I have a man coming to sort out the bathroom floor from when the water from the leaky radiator made it lift up. Then an electrician booked in for Wednesday morning to put a new thermostat in - it's all go!
Not feeling too good at the minute - I have a headache most of the time and am very achy - it's almost a year since I had Covid now - had enough of it now!
Gers - I'm like you, I've never worn skirts for years though I d have a couple of pairs of nice floaty trousers for the summer. My mam would love it if I suddenly started wearing a skirt and 'dressed like someone my age' as she puts it. I'm happy in my jeans! if I need to look smart then it's black trousers.
Izzy - I think I'd 'hide' your boss under a pile of washing!
Better get on. Hope everyone has a good day and the poorlies are feeling better x12 -
Hi everyone,
Nmlc and Izzy, I sympathise with shirking colleagues, it's infuriating.
Mehefin and Nelski, I hope you are both ok, let us know if you're able.
Nanny, the new car is great but has a lot of features I'll need to get my head round, one being how best to optimise the hybrid element of the car to be as economical as possible. I really like the automatic gearbox though, it's so easy to drive.
I had another disturbed night, but baby related this time, Esther had a very disturbed night so I took her for a while. She's got a bit of a cold and her chest seems rattly but she's well in herself so hopefully nothing too serious. Laura has left her with us while she takes Esben to a music class, hopefully he will run off some of his energy.
Not a lot else going on today, I need to think about dinner tonight, Brian did last nights from my Persiana everyday book, the chicken was delicious, so tender, definitely one to do again.
Have a good day.10 -
Hello all, it looks like it will be a dryish day but then it's downhill again from tomorrow. We got the tools from Lidl so Mr Fix It was happy and I bought a whole box of cornflour, which I had been trying to get since before xmas. The rest of the day was spent watching the TV, binge watching Alice in Borderland, not for the squeamish that programme.
Today we're going wallpaper shopping for the lounge but I have no idea what I want. Do I want a feature wall ? or just the fireplace one featured ? Shall we paper the whole of it all the same ? Plain or patterned ? Well I'm sure I'll know when I see something, or not 🙄 Looking online at the prices I'd better take out a mortgage before we go though !
Gers I only have a black skirt for funerals (part of a suit but usually I wear trousers with the jacket) and one dress for the summer, everything else is trousers and jeans and then joggers for in the house. I have plenty of nice tops for going out and then in house tops.
Right I'd better get ready and I could be gone a while, this wallpaper malarky is making me anxious before I've even stepped foot in a shop 🤔
Take care all, hugs to anyone in need.
