Q about free gift being out of stock

I went into my local Argos today to claim the breezies parade free gift set. This was my second visit to the store to claim said gift. the assistant said it was not in stock and not knowing what exactly I was claimihg asked if she could tell me what it was! She went off to find out to return several minutes later saying she had rung up somewhere to query it and was told the gift in question was never it stock or never would be! I was very polite and stated that it was very silly to advertise the offer knowing this! The assistant agreed and said bear with for a bit. She returned about 5 minutes later apologising and asked me if I would accept a £10 gift card in place of the free gift. I gladly accepted her offer,thanked her and went on my way! Hope this helps anyone else in the same situation regarding this item! :j

Hi, I've had exactly the same problem. I've contacted customer services and have been told that if the free product is not in stock within the two month period you are able to claim it then Argos have a duty to offer a voucher of the price of the item. This was originally denied instore as they claimed that the offer was operated on a 'while stocks last' policy. However, if Argos does not offer this alternative they may be guilty of false advertising.
