  • Oh they are just DCB Ltd letters. Seen hundreds of them!

You'd said that ParkingEye were sending letters demanding £170 (which they don't).
And that's the point ... PE don't themselves, but they do well knowing they are selling a fake by using DCBL

Don't DCBL underatand PE is just using and abusing them as FREEBIE junk letter sender
  • Thanks for the replies. So should I just ignore the letters completely in that case?

YES, the DCBL letter is just a debt crawler letter adding a fake £70
The same with the PE letter but they don't add on fakes

PE do their own court action, they just use a third party to scare you

If you get a letter before claim then come back here

Parkingeye threatening court action. Do I pay up?

    Obviously not!

    It's not a fine.

A court claim would not be worse.

Complain URGENTLY to the cinema manager and whoever runs the entire site (managing agents). They can order it cancelled at any time.

The land IS NOT OWNED by PE.
Doing nothing is not what I advised. See above. Did you assume when the cinema said they don't own the site and a third party does, that PE do?

No. A third party owns the site but it's certainly not ParkingEye!

Find out who owns the place and they can cancel.

So can the cinema. They have a ParkingEye contact email and user manual that tells them how...
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I've already complained multiple times to Odeon, including stating that them claiming they have no power to cancel the fine is BS but they're sticking to it and claim the land is owned by Parking Eye.
  • To add to that, I can't find any details of who owns the land.

SOME IDEAS ON DETERMINING WHO OWNS THE LAND

    1. Google searches
    2. If a retail park, check on any signage which lists the on-site outlets
    3. Ask retailers on the site if there is a managing agent
    4. Ask retailers on the site to whom do they pay rent
    5. Contact the local authority and ask who pays the non-domestic/business rate for the car park (some councils have a spreadsheet on their website)
    6. Contact the local Valuation Office and ask if they know. They often have a website which might provide the information
    7. Contact The Land Registry and for around £3 they should be able to provide definitive detail
    8. If you haven't already done so, give us the name of the car park/site/location, we may have seen other cases there.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
