Personal Accounting Software UK Quicken replacement

Hi All,
I know this question has come up before, but having trawled the previous responses I'm not sure I can see an answer that fits my needs.
I am looking for some personal accounting software to keep a track on our spending and fixed expenditures. Some time ago I was using using Quicken and absolutely loved it. It just worked and in a way that made complete sense to me. Particularly liked the dashboard, split transactions, categories and the report generation tools. However, I stopped using it for a while, probably because the home version was no longer being supported, and then when I came back to it with a newer laptop and version of Windows, the software I had wouldn't load. So I recently started looking at it again to discover to my dismay, that it's a USA/Canada only product now! I tried downloading it but can't get past the need for a mobile number that it recognises or a ZIP code, which of course I don't have and it won't let me sign up with PayPal either! All VERY frustrating!!!!
Now I know a lot of people on here say just use Excel and whilst my spreadsheet knowledge is fair, I am not the sort of propellor head that can produce a spreadsheet with the same level of functionality and nice look and feel as I had in Quicken. Hence why I am looking for a UK usable alternative to Quicken. I am not precious about being able to connect to my bank by the way. It's a feature I've never had so not sure I need it now. I did try GNUCASH but found it way too complicated and not user friendly but probably fine if you are a practicing accountant.
Any suggestions or assistance gratefully received. Many thanks.

If your needs are not too complex Excel is fine. If you want more power, Microsoft Access is a also a good one. It requires some data manipulation (SQL) knowledge but this is fairly easy to pick up.Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.1

Have you considered MS Money? It is also no longer supported, but it does work with Windows latest versionsI have been using Money forever, easy to set up & automate things like regular payments, no bank functions, but you say you don't need those [nor do I]There is a Share price updater available from another company, about a tenner for life, and I use this without any problemsYou may find search references to the Sunset edition, which works, but it is US centric, the link I give is UK version, pounds, one

Thanks for the info. That's very generous of you to supply the link. Ihad looked around for MS Money but couldn't find a download. Certainly looks like what I need. I'll download and give it a go and report back. Many thanks again.0 -
Same here with MS Money, been using it for over 20 years (I can still go back to the first transaction 2nd April 2001).
It's worked for all versions on Windows including W.11 that I've had in that time as well as around five different computers and the best thing its that its still free.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -

Hi Farway,
Just thought I'd let you know that I have installed MS Money and am very happy with it. It does Categories slightly differently to Quicken but I think I've got my head around it!
Thanks again for the advice and importantly, the link. Much appreciated. Cheers2 -

CheersHappy to have helped, just in case you don't already, remember to make backups of your data.Money will do this for you, just specify frequency & where to back up, I use memory stick back up having found out the hard way that I was not wise to use the PC I was on as the backup as wellEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Just adding this in case anyone else stumbles across it.
Quicken 2013 is still free and available here. Working happily on WIndows 10.

Just click the arrow next to If you are converting from Quicken 2004 through 2009 to get the link.1
