Penetrating damp

Hi.
We have damp
I believe its peneteating damp
We are a 2 story semi detached.
On our  upper side wall we have a built in wardrobe that has some damp . Just on bit attached to side wall.

We have  noticed downstairs that there is small damp circles about 6 in total on the same wall but slightly over from above.
Looks like 3 are in a line about 3ft from floor and a further 3 about 1  foot from floor.
The space they all take up is about 3 x 3 ft in total

I'm positive its penetrating damp and may be our pointing(house is 35y old)

Who do we get out to fix it and any idea of approx cost

Any other help gratefully appriciated and hope i have made myself plain.

Do have pictures of damp and exterior wall if any help.

    Pictures would always help.
Circular "damp" patches sounds like it could just be condensation forming on dot'n'dab plasterboard - The patches forming where the adhesive is due to the wall being slightly colder in those spots.
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

I have cleaned the damp off stupidly before I took the pictures.

Dump in such wardrobes is very common because of condensation.

  • Is the guttering around the roof in good condition, not blocked or leaking ?
That's the first thing I'd check.

Not the gutter as it's the end side of house and no gutters present.

Long shot (and I am sure others will educate my observation) but do either of those damp spots correspond to that missing bit of pointing? Or where maybe a cable hole has been drilled?

The pointing looks OK. It's a cavity wall, so inner skin should be protected anyway.
Mortar droppings on the ties, or in the cavity above DPC can also cause a few damp spots.
Bricks look like Edenhall, which are more prone to shrinkage cracking.
