I've been very happy with my Lakeland 6l slow cooker, bought to replace an old one about 5 years ago, IIRC. But sadly the pot has developed a little crack, which has now started to leak onto the base. I've just been onto their website to order a replacement - the availability of which was one factor in choosing it in the first place - only to discover a "item discontinued" notice, and none of the usual spares companies seem to stock them either. I'm intending to ask the customer service team who actually makes them, in the vague hope that there might be something else out there that would fit, but they may not be inclined to tell me that for commercial reasons. Does anyone out there know? It goes against the grain to have to buy a whole new one when most of it still works perfectly well & does exactly what I need it to do!
ETA: have now spoken to customer service. Sadly they can't divulge who makes them (in China) or exactly why they've been discontinued, but it looks like it's because that's the most expensive component of the thing. (Turns out I was only just out of guarantee too
) I suspect other companies may also withdraw spares, under the current circumstances of supply chain difficulties and high demand for low-wattage appliances. So back to the drawing board, unless anyone out there does know?

Have you thought about using SC liners @thriftwizard? Would be cheaper than buying a new replacement inner pot. They are available but would cost about £10-£15. Amazon sell the liners quite cheaply and I'm fairly certain I've seen them in £land. The cheapest ones of Amazon are £3.94 for a pack of 25.

Thanks, @joedenise; I'm a bit wary of things that involve plastic (&/or teflon) & heat. Not that all ceramics are "safe" either, but we've been using those since the dawn of time! Sadly it looks like it's a whole new (or secondhand) SC rather than just the inner pot now...

I'm wondering this ^^^^^ but also is there any epoxy type glue that would withstand high temperatures?
Or is it possible to use something like a pyrex dish inside the now cracked ceramic?
or use a strong silicone lining (such as for base of oven) inside sc and then a liner
I also wonder if it is worth writing an email to Lakeland explaining that as a loyal customer you are devastated to discover that no replacement ceramic pot is now available but that was the very factor that influenced your decision to buy this particular item in the first place.
I mean of course lay the disappointment factor etc very thick.
Would cost you nothing except a bit of timeBeing polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

You could have a google for food safe ceramic waterproof glue, or if you know a friendly potter, ask them to make a replacement? Or have a look on gumtree, fbmp, ebay for anyone who may have spares. Can you use a replalcement from another brand? They seem to be the same shape so will a 6l one from morphy richards fit a lakeland one for example?

I have just had another thought: could you line the ceramic with a double layer of extra duty foil? then use liners or a bowl/ dish inside.?Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

I use espares a lot, however I'm not sure they would have Lakeland but if you knew the measurements, they would have something suitable?
If it helps I have just bought a 6l slow cooker from argos and it was in stock for £38.
Can you believe it, I just looked on Argos to add a link and it's gone down to £30. I only bought it last week.

except it looks like pretty much all at Argos are out of stock! so the price reduction is immaterial! (in the local area anyway)Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Oh no I have checked again and it was the crockpot brand I got, and it's now I think £42.
They aren't showing as available either. I picked mine up on Wednesday last week.0 -
I've had this problem before with slow cooker inners. It's hugely frustrating not being able to replace the breakable part and having to dispose of the 'cheap' but more environmentally damaging electronics.0

I've hunted right round 't'interweb, everything big enough but cheaper was sold out everywhere, so I went back to the Lakeland site - only to discover they've sold out now too! Aaaargh... I believe our local store had a few in stock, so I may ring them first thing tomorrow, and if that's still the case, bomb down there. It's not the easiest drive, and I need to go in the opposite direction for straw & compost at the farm shop, but hey ho! Needs must...Angie - GC Jun 25: £309.06/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0
